Head English on Movin the Chains today. Sounded like a bright guy, graduated from college already Liberal Arts. Visited with the Pats, didn't meet BB was with the LB coach, went over Pats D saw how he retained info, Denver Az a couple of other teams showing interest.

He is on my binky list w Barwin & S Smith. I could see taking English & Barwin. Would make me very happy.

Pryor ready to put heat on | courier-journal.com | The Courier-Journal
The NFL draft dream scenario for Myron Pryor isn't unreasonable.

The former University of Kentucky defensive tackle and Eastern High School graduate would love to go in the third round and to a city with decent weather.

Considering the list of teams that have expressed the most interest in him -- the Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, New England Patriots, New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers -- Pryor might be out of luck.

"I would prefer a warm-weather climate or maybe like here, just as long as it's not too cold," the 6-foot-1 319-pounder said.

Terrance Taylor tackles NFL head-on | Freep.com | Detroit Free Press
Terrance Taylor has never backed down from a challenge, and the former U-M defensive tackle from Muskegon didn't in his individual interviews with NFL teams.

"When I talk to teams, I ask them where I fit in their defense and a lot of teams want me and say I can fit into the 3-4 defense and play nose guard," he said this week.
-----
Taylor is fighting his lack of size, measuring at 6 foot at the NFL Combine, but is strong, having benched 225 pounds 37 times. He's had workouts with the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions plus conversations with several other teams.

Re: Updated list - 4/24/09

Beautiful night for a spring game… | Kent State Sports
AN INTERESTING NOTE … The New England Patriots were in Kent yesterday to work out KSU senior wrestler Jermail Porter. I’ve heard from some people who watched the workout, and they say he did extremely well. That would be something if he follows Antonio Gates and gives KSU two non-football alumni in the pro ranks.

I just wanted to say that I love this thread most of all, so thank you. Also It's funny but they showed little interest in all three potential 1st rounder LB's from USC, that struck me as odd...

Also, after looking at the list S seems to be a priority. I'd be shocked if they did'nt take one by the end of round two....

Here are a few videos of Jermail Porter: flowrestling.org/videos/coverage/athlete/234260/1849-jermail-porter-sr

Looks like he moves extremely well for a big guy (6'7, 285). Are we considering him as an offensive lineman, defensive lineman, or outside linebacker? Looks like he has the fluidity and power for either one. Intriguing guy, for sure.

Very intriguing,very raw.

Does anybody have any video of the basketball player from Arizona they worked out?

No, but I'd love to see him in action. I assume they'd try him at TE?

He looks like a 3-4 DE or a RT, he's not an OLB.

Absolutely fantastic work dudes.

Looking at the prospects we've worked out and who have visited, and coupled with their potential draft grades, it seems it will be a defense heavy draft (again) with us potentially targeting DE/OLB, S and CB on Day 1, and LB, DL, OT, WR, TE and QB on day two.

I say we go DE/OLB in round one, S and CB in round two with any potential value pick to consider (Knowshon Moreno dropping to round two for example).

Oh, and it's only 114 prospects by the way you have Terrail Lambert listed twice :)

No Sebastian Vollmer on the list. I'd like to hear what their take on this guy was from the get go.

Note that Caserio specifically stated in his talk at Gillette that the Pats had 10 of 12 draft selections in for visits or private workouts.

As furiously as this was followed, only some were noted.

Chung - Visit
Brace (attended workout)
Butler (attended Pro Day)
Vollmer
Tate - Visit
McKenzie - Private Workout
Ohrenberger - Visit
Bussey
Ingram
Pryor (rumored interest)
Edelman (attended workout)
Richard

What is your point?

I noted that Caserio said specifically that the Pats held private work-outs or Gillette visits with 10 of the drafted players.

News reports basically only had four.
Chung, Tate, Ohrenberger, McKenzie.

There were three other notes that Pats coaches attended work-outs (not that private work-outs were held.)

So, on the one hand, you can narrow down the Pats board by looking at visits and private workouts, as this list does. That makes this type of list very interesting prior to the draft. Unfortunately, only about half of those visits, apparently, are published.

BB also went personally to the Uconn workout to see their prospects, so that explains Darius Butler. The Pats actually drafted several of the players that have come in for visits. Chung, Tate, Mckenzie, Ohrnberger etc. So I think that the 'smoke screen' theory really doesn't have a lot of weight. Time and limited visits allotted to teams are too precious to waste on players that the Pats aren't interested in evaluating a little more closely.
