Was reading the game thread at times, with the game on in the background. Turning back and forth was entering two different worlds.
With two minutes left in the game, the Pats had 404 yards, the Rams 90.
The Rams had won 4 games, including one against Seattle. Several of their 7 losses had been 1-score game. The Rams D was #9 in ypg.
And the Patriots, adjusting to the loss of Gronk, handed them one of the most lopsided beat-downs I've ever seen. In the game thread, you'd think it was a 3-point game and we got outplayed...or, the other side of the coin, that we weren't playing a real NFL team anyway.
Amazing.
Anyone, on the game: Blount Lewis, and White all look fresh and ready to roll into the playoffs.
Mitchell has become the solid outside guy to compliment Hogan (who is clearly playing hurt with that back - you could see it on a couple of blocks).
The OL again played well, against a pretty good front.
Van Noy, Van Noy, Van Noy.
McClellin played well, I thought.
Sheard played well and almost caused a pair of picks when dropping back into coverage, and caused one of the picks hitting the QB's arm.
Eric Rowe was a nice pick-up - hope his hammy is okay. They can do a lot more back there (blitzing Ryan) with Rowe.
Gost needed that.
Bennett is hobbled, but his blocking was again outstanding.
The Pats are the best team in the AFC. They play their game and they have a good shot at the #1 seed and at the SB.
One last point: I'm sure many of those game-thread posters looked at Seattle last night and are now thinking "no chance!"
Seattle got beat by Tampa 14-5 last week. It's the NFL.
