Because of pressure. Watching his two previous games I saw the same thing. If the pocket is clean he can make some nice throws especially down the sidelines but when he gets rattled he starts throwing inaccurately. They got to him and kept him uncomfortable all game. It worked.
While they did apply pressure and have some impact on his throws there were also open guys that he straight up underthrew, without pressure on him.

Trubisky missed wide open receivers because he was throwing like **** regardless of pressure.

Previous games 70.2% completion rate.

Against Pats 52% completion rate. Pressured all game long..

But yeah. He was crap regardless of pressure.

More Deus "wisdom" because he's always right and never wrong.

Exactly. And improving. As per usual.

Of course that will not stop the “but they only played the X QB and Y will destroy them..“

I don't know why we have to go through this seemingly every freakin' week, but I guess homers never learn that analysis is not the systematic lying about their favorite team in order to make it seem better than it is.

  • The defense sucked.
  • The defense has sucked often this season.
  • The defense sucking is not all because of the rules.
  • We hope that things improve for the defense, and we can reasonably have that hope because...
  • In a BB system, the defense often gets better over the course of the season, unless and until it meets top QBs who can exploit the weaknesses that had been covered up over time.

All of the above are true. None of the above are exclusive of one another.

Why are opposing backs and TE’s ALWAYS OPEN 5-8 yards past line of scrimmage?

You mean the same way White is versus every team they've played so far? It's not like they don't know he's the Pats leading receiver.

No. Not all of the above are true. They are your pathetically biased opinion.

I may be the odd one out but I thought the defense played well today. The mistakes we committed were more easily correctable than previous games. Put a spy or contain the edge better on the qb and just cover the te better.

They got two ints and had to work from short fields when the offense turned it over.

Yes, he missed some wide open recs when he wasn't under pressure. Bad throws. Didn't see some wide open guys.
But what you're saying is bs.
He missed plenty of throws BECAUSE of pressure.
To say the Pats pass rush had no effect on his throwing is absurd.

Overall, the quality of football has turned to sh*t

The notion of defense has been destroyed in trying to protect offensive players....

That said, Justin Tucker missed an extra point to put a game into overtime.....watching offense scoring constantly is not going to be nearly as much fun as people think.

As long as the OL can protect Brady, the team will always have a chance to win against anyone

If you think Trubisky sucked because of the pressure, and nothing else, you're useless as a QB analyst.

Haha.

Once Belichick pointed at me and said, "hey could you come down here for second", and I thought I was finally going to get to be an NFL play scheme analyst but unfortunately it was then I realized that he was pointing to the beverage vendor guy behind me and only wanted some minute maid OJ.

JK

Yeah Deus I'm not an analyst rather just a guy who enjoys chatting about the games. I watched his previous games and he demonstrated that he could get rattled in the pocket if he was pressured. If his pocket was clean and he looked comfortable he was able to throw dimes especially down the sidelines.

So yes I think pressure affected his performance today and enough so to help win the game.

If you like evenly matched offense and defense your hypothesis would be correct. Just like the NBA has become dunk and 3 pt shot-centric, the NFL is all about offense and it's on purpose.

True. So while watching his two previous games I noticed that after he gets rushed out of the pocket or hit or etc.... he could get jumpy in the pocket. We've seen it with Brady at times.

I think there is something to messing with a QB's internal clock or whatever others call it.

But even if that's not the case my overall point is that Trubisky did not have all day to throw it. If he did the Pats would have lost today.

Lets do some basic math. The Bears scored 31 points. 14 was off a fumble on a kickoff and a fumble on a run. Both put them in incredibly advantageous field position where they were primed to score. You really can't hang the defense on that. Subtract 14 from 31 and you have 17. So two TD's and a field goal. Meanwhile the defense got two key INT's. They also got a huge sack in a crucial situation.

People are way too quick once again to look at the score and hang it all on the defense.

Was reading that Brees had joined Favre and Manning as the only QB to beat all 32 teams. Not thinking, I asked, "wheres Brady?".

Didnt realize that Brady hadnt beaten the Patriots yet.....

It will be the one record Brady will never be a part of..
