Everyone criticizing the defense: we’ve scored 38+ points in four straight games (never been done in NFL history) despite clearly being nothing special on offense compared to some past teams.
The rules are absurd. The defense is doing okay considering the obstacles they face.
What pissed me off, and I hate do go there, but the refs were HORRIBLE!!!
I don't think it's a conspiracy, I think they just SUCK!!
..And the Bears were definitely playing dirty. With intent to injure, IMO.
And the league is worried about injuries??? WTF?
It's beyond a joke.
The D (and the O, a bit) needs work on the road, but as long as they keep winning, I'm satisfied.
For now
You don't think he could be used off the ball?
People are criticizing the defense because the defense has sucked. They're not criticizing the defense because the defense has been dealing with some new rules, because those rules aren't the reason the defense has sucked.
Mitch Trubisky was the Patriots best defensive player today, for crying out loud.
They play nickel most of the time and prefer SS. LBs have to stop the run first and be big on tackling. Im good with this philosophy. Also a sub LB has to be close to a ST ace which i dont think Reddick is either.. Id much prefer KGH but unfortunatelly that ship has sailed. Ironically they kept Roberts over him. I don't mind Roberts here at all as you know (esp. with Bentley out) but I did mind risking cutting KGH and eventually losing him
btw - Arizona has all the players fans salivate for here (incl. CJ) and cant stop anybody..
Thank you....First thing you've said in a long time that I've actually agreed with.. That the refs just plain sucked today.. A lot of people were pointing this out..
Thank you....
I think.
But then again, you don't agree with many.
It’s still the defense’s job to hold those offenses to FGs. We should know that. We saw defenses like that in championship years. This defense has not done that and the Bears’ WRs were often running WIDE open through our zones today. That the team was comfortable playing that much zone suggests the issues aren’t communication. It suggests the issues are personnel-related. This is not a good defense. If they don’t improve, and improve a lot, they’ll be the 2018 team’s downfall when they eventually run into a squad that they can’t hang 28+ on. Luckily, Belichick doesn’t seem happy either.
How many receptions did those receivers get? 9. Their receivers weren't the problem today. Probably because Trubisky was being pressured all game. That pressure forced him to make numerous poor throws and decisions.
Sure it's the defenses job to hold them to a FG on a short field but you're giving them less margin for error by doing so and they're not an elite unit.
Longer fields gives them more opportunities to force stops, mistakes and or turnovers. They're good enough to do that.
They just beat two good and potentially playoff bound teams despite having to defend short fields and turnovers multiple times each game.
Trubisky missed wide open receivers because he was throwing like **** regardless of pressure.
That is a very good question....he looked like he was running in slo motion....hope he didn’t reaggravate his hamstring....awesome play by him and at full strength/speed would have scored
Reiss quoted him saying it was fatigue. The addition of Gordon is huge. Just wondering a bit about his big 50-yard gain where he looked like he was going slow. Was it fatigue, or his hamstring? Don't know, but I expected him to score after he broke away from the two tacklers after the catch. But it worked out well in the end. The Pats still scored and took more time off the clock.
No
Regardless of pressure
No. Because of pressure. Pressure matters.
I'm starting a new movement. QBPM. I'm tired of the lack of credit it's getting around here.
