Post Game Thread - Panthers @ Pats

I said it last week the Defense wasn't good but would improve I was wrong they were worst this week it was an ugly loss. I also said the offense line was weak and again they were. Brady was lucky last week to get the win. We should be 1-3 instead of 2-2. Buffalo controlled Atlanta that was a surprise now 3-1 and then the Jets pulled one out in OT to be 2-2. Miami is out of it. So as of now it's a cluster fu*k of bad teams. I am surprised I expected the loss of Edelman to have a negative effect but his loss isn't effecting them through 4 game. They need a wake up call and soon.

Then in the Super Bowl, Wade Phillips realized he doesn't really scramble, he just does designed runs very well. So they let loose and blitzed him and down went the Panthers. Belichick didn't seem to learn that lesson today.

BB also doesnt seem to have the defense that Wade Phillips had today. There might be a connection there but I will let you connect the dots.

I should add that his compensation factors heavily into my evaluation. I expect all-pro play for that $$

I was quoted in the game thread by a 30K poster because I was getting frustrated by feeling we play too passively on defense. I feel the stand the line up contain the running QB doesn't work particularly well. I was told the problem was we were being over aggressive? I'm 55 and have been a fanatic Patsfan my whole life. Am I not seeing correctly or does it feel we play a very cautious brand of defense. I think the personal would better suit the Denver press man attack style. Who thinks we play over aggressively on defense?

I think he figured out the issue and how to solve it tbh. Take Gilmore off the field, seriously. Anything is better than playing with basically 10 defenders

If this is your serious attempt you really got not much insight.

He signed Kony Ealy. But he didn't work out. Had he been a good fit, you wouldn't be saying that.

But it didn’t work out did it? Your right I wouldn’t be saying anything if these moves worked out. But I’m going to say something if you give a guy 40 mil in guaranteed cash and let a better corner go in Logan Ryan. Another one of bill the GMs personnel mistakes.

On the bright side the Chiefs are the only AFC team that doesn't look fatally flawed, and I'm not convinced that they're not.

We look like garbage so far but nobody else looks a lot better.

Alex. Smith. Andy. Reid.

They already are out of SB contention.

Except the overall philosophy of defense has been perfectly functional to take us to how many AFCCG in a row ?

defense is a hot flaming dumpster fire. nothing matters until that gets fixed. 14 point comeback is wasted.

The fact that you are talking as if Gilmore and Ryan are playing the same position and are interchangeable shows that you have no clue what you are saying.

These are two teams ( KC, Car) you can't lose to at home. You cant. My god what will Oakland and Atlanta do?

There is a problem with the D, and it is the linebacking core. It is woefully undermanned.

Belichick's specialty is DBacks, he will solve the problems back there. My only concern is that McCourty may have lost a step.

But our LBs? On those screens? Embarrassing.

I don't think BB can do anything about those LBs.

By the way, people are delusional if they believe Belichick is going to give up on his scheme for these DBacks.

Lol. I own a 7 figure business chief. Why? Because I can recognize when something isn't working (even if it was my mistake) and make changes. I hired an employee whom I thought would be a rockstar...he was awful. That was my mistake...I fired him, we fixed it and moved on. I believe findementally that Gilmore is just not bright enough to understand his assignments, or to know that you CAN'T make stupid penalties in a must have situation. I believe the defense is better without him than with him. It's not that's I'm "quitting" on the team, it's that I want the best defense we can field and I don't believe Gilmore is part of that group right now.

So who should start then ? Jonathan Jones who is shorter than Butler ? Rowe who looked equally clueless and was an even worse liability because he couldnt even tackle ? Explain to me how benching him helps the team in any way whatsoever. Do you think that his replacement will not be just abused even worse ?

Your analogy with the normal workforce falls flat because you can just fire and hire at any point and realistically not really have that much of a dropoff. You are not running a sports franchise with super star athletes in a league where the unsigned people are JAGs at best.

So me saying I prefer Ryan over Gilmore considering the price of both means I have no clue what I’m saying. Got it. Thanks.

Yup, the linebacker group is awful with the exception of HT. I know we say it plenty but they are really hurting us. And if it is in fact a personell issue, Bill screwed the pooch with that.
