Post Brady? More like Post BGEMMCTHW

Just curious .. would you think that is a good recipe to run a large company?
No. You need multiple talented people within your company. Bill's model wouldn't have lasted past 2002 without stable play at QB.
We’ve had plenty of good athletes that put team first. It’s not like the Pats from 2000 to 2020 are sending 20 guys to the hall of fame, yet they were strong in many facets of the team.
Tom Brady was a big reason why. He put lots of players in positions to make plays they wouldn't elsewhere.
I’m convinced Billy does stay away from the biggest Prima Donna wide receivers just because of making waves thou…
He does. Chris Simms has confirmed from his one year in the Pats front office that Bill purposely stays away from more talented guys in general because he wants to coach "yes sir" guys.

So I’m guessing it’s the more brash loud athletes you think will bring a championship banner? Why can’t talent be humble ? I’m gonna venture a guess that pretty much anybody that becomes a professional athlete is talented? I’ve always surrounded myself in my profession with people that were smarter than me in their perspective fields but I’d never allow for anybody to be above the teams goals.

You mean like Joe Thuney or Jake Bailey? Obviously I’m giving you a hard time. We have drafted below average. Verdict still out on 2021 and beyond.
I don’t count Bailey because he’s a punter and who cares? But Thuney is another one that Bill drafts, develops, the guy is a stud and he lets him walk. He was necessary in a completely lost season but then when you draft a rookie QB for some reason that’s when you don’t bring him back? I mentioned it in one of the other threads but when he hits on guys he needs to give them a second contract. Otherwise he gets stuck with a revolving door at the same positions and can never start to address the other holes on the roster.

Did not know all these players were playing since 2001...

Very difficult to have a winning team without a QB. After Brady, they had Cam Newton, Hoyer, Mac Jones, Zaffe, and bunch of others. the only QB on the list is Hoyer and he left to be with Josh McDaniels who is without a job. Belichick has to get out. Go with Josh Harris the owner of the Commanders, NJ Devils & the Philadelphia 76ers.

Many a thread and post have been made about our lack of success Post Brady. I find this distinction to be lacking as we are not only Post Brady, we are also Post Gronk, Edelman, Mason, McCourty, Chung, Thuney, Hightower, and James White. That is an immense talent drain to try and overcome in just a couple seasons and I feel distilling it down to "Post Brady" just doesn't highlight that nearly enough. I hereby declare we use Post BGEMMCTHW (that's pronounced bih-gem-chith-wuh) from here on out.
Maybe you should ask why we haven't adequately replaced a group of guys who were drafted/acquired between 09-14 over the last decade.

Also it's kind of hard to say when in the year immediately after Brady we still had everyone you mentioned outside of Gronk and still had a losing season. And then had everyone outside of Edelman the year after.

Shannon Sharpe publicly apologized to Tom Brady after years of eroding credit in favor of Bill. That’s how bad it is. Lol

We have won 6 after the Michael Bishop Era.

What did he screw up with this year?

Maybe kicking a figgie on 4th down late once....otherwise, impeccable, IMO.
His team has players that make too many mistakes, penalties, and bone headed plays.

That's 100% on the HC.

Our penalty counts are 27, 18, and 9 for O, D, and STs respectively through 8 weeks.

27 on offense is pretty much all false starts and holding...I do not recall more than 1 OPI call against us, if any...

That lends credence to the OL being shuffled for about 6 weeks this season. Think we have been OK since the Vegas game.

That being said, I expected Klemm to work miracles...but hard to make chicken salad with chicken poop....

Not kicking a FG on this drive in the season opener:

Set the team up to needing 6 points instead of 3 to win the game on this drive:

That loss is on Bill. The team played well enough to win that game:

But they are happening a lot in critical moments, which reinforces the coaching staff angle... They have to help create fortitude

Yup, could be coached better....but we are talking multiple OL-men and a QB running for his life. It is no coincidence that Mac has one of the the quickest releases in the NFL this year...IIRC, he was up there with Joe Burrow, Daniel Jones, Bryce Young, and etc...all of whom were struggling with protection issues. On the other end of the spectrum were Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson, Tua Tagovailoa, and Brock Purdy...all of whom that have 5+ win teams....

IOW, it's personnel....coaching can only help so much. And it has been better in recent weeks though....

Yeah, all true

But it all starts with coaching IMO If the player get overwhelmed after 3 seconds, then the whole team collapses right... they need to be better prepared. Purdy isnt a scrambler much, but the he is on that list

Bb's team were known for situational awereness, but, to add to the other the list, that is lacking recently.

I agree tho, maybe the players just arent that great, but hey, They cant all be winners

This is dumb because before Gronk, Edelman, Mason, McCourty, Chung, Thuney, Hightower, and James White there was Brady, and the Pats were still winning superbowls and making it to the AFC championship or super bowl every year.

What about before Brady? We were 5-13, missed the playoffs with a 5-11 season and started 0-2 before Brady changed everything.

Does that mean Bill didn't play a key role as HC or that no other player helped? Of course not but it's more than obtuse to not recognize that Brady was by far the biggest impact on the Pats winning for 2 decades.

A lot of posters on this board thought Brady was going to look bad with Arians because this board viewed him as a joke of a HC. Turns out when Bruce Arians had a HOF QB (Warner and Brady) he could make it to the superbowl, win the superbowl. Also turns out that when Belicheck doesn't have a HOF QB he can barely make the playoffs

Hold on let me come up with a catchy acronym for McGinest, Bruschi, Wilfork, Seymour, Faulk, Harrison, Milloy, Law, Branch, Givens, Light, Koppen, Neal, Dillon
