Do you agree with

  • Seeding by record and keep division winners in there

  • Straight seeding by record

  • keep it as it is

This is the correct answer. Don't want to miss the playoffs? Win your division. 10 wins guarantees you nothing.

The actual correct answer should be tough **** that you won your weak 4 team division with 7 wins. Don't want to miss the playoffs? Win more than 1 of the other 10 games you played.

I'm truly fascinated by how much weight some people place on the 6 weak division games over the other 10 games and overall record, especially when that weak division winner gets in with a worse record than a team or teams that kicked their ass on the field. What do you tell those teams? Tough **** that you didn't make the playoffs with a better record and a win over that team on the field, but you should have been in a weak division like they were?

What if that division had the NFC West and AFC North to play? An average team this year would be lucky to go 3-5. 3-3 in your division, 1-1 in your other games, and you're 7-9. How is that different from a 10-6 team, who got to play the AFC South and NFC East, and go 6-2 at worst? (I'm looking at you, Jets)

The Pats played the exact same schedule as the Jets, including home and away games against the same teams. The only difference is that the Jets got two games against us and we got two against them, making our schedule easier than theirs. Should Cincy get seeded ahead of us because of that?
