Playing a Mock Draft Game elsewhere.....

Gone with Jimmy Graham.

I really was expecting him to have gone by the end of the second, and with some of the teams ahead of me in the third needing TE help, I didn't think there was any way he would make it to the #94.

That just about wraps it up (we're only doing three rounds for now, although it might change if the GM's agree to it), and to recap, the picks for the Pats are:

#22 - Jared Odrick, DE
#44 - Carlos Dunlap, OLB
#93 - Mardy Gilyard, WR
#95 - Koa Misi, OLB/ILB
#78 - Ben Tate, RB
#94 - Jimmy Graham, TE

I'm delighted with my efforts, personally, from Gilyard downwards I'm expecting all those guys to have gone long before the end of the second round, let alone third, and I think I got terrific value with my trades.

I would have liked to have picked up an O-lineman for depth (John Asamoah ideally, Matt Tennant although I gambled with him), but felt the value was to good to let others passed. If we do continue, I have my eye on an O-lineman in the fourth.

An offensive lineman is a good bet for the 4th. Take a look at the private workouts thread, see if Dante might have done any visits. Last year George Bussey was the partner to Eric Wood at Louisville, I think, which meant he showed up on film. So teammates of good OL in this draft are a good bet. They need to have been regular starters for 3+ seasons. Take a look at Ohrnberger and see if there's anything that stands out in his college history that can be applied to players in this year's draft.

I will take a look myself later and see what I can find.

Looks like a nice draft. The only big risk I see is taking Dunlap that early with the character issues. If he can overcome his immaturity he's got the physical talent to go far though. We'll just have to wait and see.
