I've always been the type who strongly believes in the old saying that coaches don't win games, players do. No team has demonstrated that better than the 2015 Patriots.
The Pats started out at 10-0 and looked like they were going to run away with the NFL title again. Then, they lose some players and they're just another team. They still have the greatest HC who ever coached, but it doesn't matter.
You also have other teams in NYJFL history that have won with different HCs. Do we really believe that Mike Triplin and Bill Cowher are the reason that Pittsburgh won SBs? I don't. Having a roster with the players they have, especially at QB, is the reason.
Ditto for the 49ers with Bill Walsh and George Seifert. And the Cowboys with Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer. They won because of the players, not the coaches.
There are probably other examples but I don't want to go on for too long. Someone show me where I'm wrong please.
