PFT: Bill "has shopped" Mac

You did have Kraft give a full throated endorsement of Jones at the owners' meeting. In fact, he sorta threw Belichick under the bus for his regression last year.

After that, why would Kraft make a statement?

That predates this story by a week, though.

I personally find it hard to believe that they issued multiple press releases about their intention to hire an OC, who they were interviewing, who they hired, as well as a press release about keeping Mayo, but they won't say a word about an extremely hot story saying they have been shopping their top QB.

Extremely hot? Too funny. Just got done looking at some Smokes before posting?

Lol - when I say that I mean there's a lot of people talking about it. I could've worded it better.

He lowballed him in the end and pushed him out the door...

Brady was leaving, period. He was sick of playing for Belichick, and he wanted to finish his career somewhere else. He was on record saying he wanted to do what Manning had done and go win a championship with another team. And Belichick wanted to move on from Brady as well.

Both those examples were true though.

Kind of makes this whole thread with all the speculation pointless.

Which kind of makes this thread right on time, cause we are in the heart of the pointless speculation portion of the NFL calendar.
Good job everybody!

I think it’s different. One case is internal moves the other is making a public statement about a rumor from an external party.

It’s addicting, though. If freaking Ian Logue, whoever that guy is, didn’t write that damn article . . . oh, wait.

Sorry I don't hate bill. At the same time I am not willing to excuse bill for what he did last year . The blame is on both sides and I don't want to give bill a free pass for it. We should just move on and use this year to gauge Mac rather than moving on because he sought outside counsel . That seems like you poke me I gouge out both your eyes , extremely immature.

If by mid season zappe wins it so be it, but to let go of your first round pick because bill felt slighted is not on.

I love pats and bill , but I am not a blind homer and believe in bills philosophy of moving 1 year early. But if Mac gets moved on for reaching out to outside counsel , then my view is bill has lost his fastball and needs to move out as well .

Everyone's mental acumen declines as they age and looks like bill is no exception to it either .
The more the post Brady era progresses, the more the Cleveland BB years get mentioned. Coach is a HOF we all can agree to that.. however it's easy to devise a great defensive game plan when you had LT and all those other greats..

It's easier to establish a culture of winning when you had a born leader, a QB with an insatiable passion for wanting to be great.. all great coaches need great players period! Karen Guregregian from her reports she seems to mention that this is coming from Mac's camp as he wants out, And it's utter dysfunction within the organization right now.

Can we blame him? Who knows what will actually happen however we can feel something is awry with the team.

Or internally they have already decided Mac isn't that good, or has been outplayed by someone else. Or the player in question thinks the other player is better. If this is coming from Mac's camp there are lots of possible reasons he wants to be gone. If it is coming from the Patriots there are different reasons, light a fire in his butt, make him work harder, push Zappe to keep working. If it is made up, it is for clicks. You get to choose.

I see. Bill doesn't deserve the credit for devising two SB winning defenses because he had great players.

Does Bill deserve credit for holding the 04 Colts to 3 points without Seymour and Law?

So maybe Mac doesn't want to be great?

I love the objectivity.

My Sister is having Physical Therapy with a former Pats Trainer.

He knows Kraft and everyone. He helped keep Gronks back inline. The Trainer told my Sister that word around Gillete is that Mac is a BACKUP QB on a bad team.

Amazing how your sister's connection has the same opinion you have. What a coincidence.

I suppose theoretically Kraft's lip service about Mac at the league meetings could've just been fluff to keep his stock up and try to get a decent price for him in a trade. "I'm a big fan of him" is a better sales pitch than "Eh we'll see how he does this year." I doubt that is the case, though.
