King says he is making only one mock, has NE trading away pick #28 and drafting Pouncey at #17

Peter King's Mock Draft - 04.25.11 - SI Vault

I think Cameron Heywood will not be around at #32 for the Packers like King thinks and if he is still at #28 for NE,I would keep the pick and take him.

Interesting find. Dated April 25, 2011, in the SI Vault.

Hard to argue with this, although I like Watt. I would like to have the Titan's first round pick next year.

I like trading the second for a 1st next year. Pouncey is such a weird choice on so many levels. He proved in the 1st half of the year that he is no center. As a guard last year I saw him as @ late 2nd, early 3rd. I saw nothing this year that changed my mind. I would rather have Watkins, Franklin, or Boling, esp. when you consider the value of the respective picks vs. the "projected" mid-1st that Pouncey is expected to go at.

I don't think King expects Pouncey to replace Koppen, but more of him as a guard replacing Mankins if he holds out again or maybe him as a starter if another team is dumb enough to cough up high picks for a Guard like Logan.

I realize that. But I stick to my contention that there are are 3 guards that I would take before Pouncey. Pouncey reminds me of a lesser Damien Woody when he came out of BC. He will do fine in a pure zone blocking O line, and might have a long career. I want a more aggressive guard, and I don't believe that I need to spend pick # 17 in the draft to get him. JMO.

Personally I like Costonzo if we are to add a lineman early and according to King I think he likes the Bills to take him early IIRC.

If the Pats draft an OL in this draft at 17, it'll be a tackle... probably Soldner.

Would be kind of cool having Solder, (6-9, 315) opposite Vollmer (6-8 315). Guy like Woodhead could get lost behind them. In a good way.

If they took Pouncey with Watt on the board I will lose all interest in the draft and the team. That would be criminal!

Pouncey is getting to be horribly overrated. He's a guard, not a center. At 17, I'd expect him to be the best guard in the NFL, and I don't see that.

Hmmmm where I have heard this before....Hmmmmm something with some Dez in it...I know for a fact that there must have been a load of draftnics throwing stuff a their screen during the first round last year...

"With the 22'd pick of the First Round the New England Patriots....wait wait they trade to Denver..." Smash crash.....

"With the 24'th pick of the first round the New England Patriots....trade with Dallas....Dallas takes Dez Bryant".... whizz smash crash....

"With the 27th pick of the first round the New Patriots take a special teams player named something like Devin McCourty." Who?

Stupid mock. I say that for a specific reason, namely:

King keeps saying teams should take a player higher than where he mocks him. Then, when the player IS taken, King says it's the wrong pick. I believe he did that with both Pouncey and Watt.

For me the worst part of last years draft was that it was prime time. Since I have to get up @ 5:00 am, that meant waiting up an extra hour, and a half because of those trades. I don't know if it was the extra beer, but it was really hard to get excited, or up for that pick... "Another Cornerback. Whatever. Yawn".

Epic Fail......

Well thank heavens this is a one and only. Now we won't have to see another one. What happened to his drivel from 2weeks ago claiming heavy sources we were interested in a RB in round 1?

We are all dumber for even clicking the link.

You should strive to be smart as a box of rocks, then you'd have not clicked the link and instead enjoyed reading all the people complaining about Peter King.
