I have not seen that as a point of contention here at all since the report came out.
I know, I am just saying it in case anyone defends him later in this thread.

Im just thrilled with 11-3. I admit 6 years ago I would have been pissed missing SB (just saying in the case we do). However you realize eventually just making the tournament and winning 11 games is NOT easy.

NFL is going to argue that organizations need to be held responsible for the actions of their employees. Bottom line is this happened under BB and Kraft's watch. Were they ignorant to what their employees were doing?

Its why I will never blame Cincinnati. While I understand some here will and thats okay... My line of thinking tends to lead me to the opinion we deserve a fine. It was just a stupid situation and Cincinnati has every right to be annoyed.

Which is why I’m fine with a fine of Kraft.

No to draft picks though - that should only be for game ops/intent. This is a tax return mistake.

Normally I would say this is a 250K fine, but Vincent may impose higher penalties since this was our 2nd violation. Again, they won't distinguish between football operations and non-football operations.

WAIT A SECOND!!!!!!

Cincinnatti leaked their video to the press DURING an IN-PROCESS league investigation.

That is not subjective but an objective no-no.

This organization cannot afford to lose high picks. This is a killer if it happens. And I wouldn't be shocked if BB is suspended for next season. Especially after Spygate. The league isn't going to care whatsoever that the Pats didn't intend for this to happen. It did. And the Pats won't be given the benefit of the doubt. Not with their history.

The last time though they had hundreds of hours of tape, multiple warnings to stop and caught red handed during that jets game.

I mean, it's not even remotely the same.

That tape shows me that whatever the **** the Patriots gain from deciphering that they earned.

Better to see here than to have to hear what was allegedly on them for decades

Oh God the hyperbolic overreaction is epic in that post. Seriously, Belichick could be suspended for next season??????

We’re all gonna die!!!!!!

I’m beginning to think @Joker is right about you.

Kraft yes. These guys are NOT employees of BB though.

I realize that, but it's a second violation

BB isn’t being suspended.

While we can't say the intent of the videotaping was nefarious, we also can't say that "this wasn't football ops" or "he offered to delete it on the spot" or "we didn't need this to beat the Bengals."

There are several very plausible scenarios that could involve BB or football ops, using non-football ops as a proxy.

Deleting the video on the spot doesn't mean anything. He got caught. Of course, he's going to try to say or do whatever he can to get out of it. The rulebook doesn't say if you delete the filming of the sidelines that it's ok. The rulebook says you can't video the sidelines. Once he was caught doing that, he was f'd.

No, we didn't need to do this to beat the Bengals, but any competitive advantage we could have (in theory) gained by doing this makes the Bengals game that much easier and allows the Pats to rest up more for the Bills the next week. Bottom line, it's a competitive advantage regardless of the opponent's record.

Now mind you, I'm just playing devil's advocate here, but I'm not wrong either.

Losing a fourth round pick and another “scandal” is so minor compared to what’s happening with Brady. People who hate the Pats will continue hating them. People who think this is yet another stupid overreaction will also continue with that. I doubt one person’s mind is actually changed on the Pats legacy.

That tape today didn’t move the needle imo.

Annoyed sure, but they're acting like its the crime of the century, glad we kicked their sorry ass today.

Get a freaking grip

Patriots 2020 draft picks:

1st round (own)
- 3rd round (own)
- 3rd round (projected compensatory pick: Trey Flowers)
- 3rd round (projected compensatory pick: Trent Brown)
- 4th round (via Chicago Bears)
- 6th round (via Houston Texans: Keion Crossen trade)
- 6th round (via Denver Broncos: Duke Dawson trade)
- 6th round (projected compensatory pick: Malcom Brown)
- 6th round (projected compensatory pick: Cordarrelle Patterson)
- 7th round (via Seattle Seahawks)
- 7th round (via Falcons)
- 7th round (via Philadelphia Eagles)

Losing a 1st rounder would screw this franchise's future.

They are happy they still have the number one draft pick wrapped up
