Cincinnati is entirely responsible for letting the lie (“spying”) get half way around the world before anybody had any idea of the context behind things. The correct course of action would have been to report it to the NFL and then keep their mouths shut.

I agree and where are all these leaks coming from about what is on the tape and how long it is? Someone is playing this up.

This take and those like them just drive me nuts. The ever perfect " did so-n-so cross all the t's and dot all the I's" crowd who seemingly never ever err dismiss intent as quickly and conveniently as they ignore logic.

I envy those loud barkers as the societal cornerstones they are or are becoming. They've never even had to make one U-turn in their lives. Never missed an appointment. Straight A's in school. ****ing perfectly outraged people. No cavities whatsoever.

Ever wonder why Charmin sells single rolls of toilet paper? Sorry to inform you but perfect people use one pleat , if that, after a bowel movement. No stains and no strains. Plop, wipe, zip, done.

Me? I'm a Costco's jumbo 32 roll pack type of guy. I make mistakes daily. I can't imagine how I must infuriate the perfectos. It's easy for me to understand how someone could overlook a few important details. It happens in my world all the time. Hence ECR's.

Anyway in my little imperfect world intent matters. Always. No crimes no fines.

Do you feel the same way about 2nd offenders? Even if the second time was an accident?

I understand it was harmless filming, that’s not the point. Any competent company/ management would have known to be cautious here AND to cross all your Ts.

Don’t take my word for it, turn the tv on to see the results of “overlooking” things.

This. Sure sounds like Cincy planted a team reporter at Monday's press conference to specifically ask about the matter, supposedly with the intention of lighting a spark under this story.

It was the team’s radio announcer. It’s like if Bob Socci asked Belichick a question at a middle of the week press conference. I don’t remember that ever happening.

So yes, that can most definitely be considered a team press release framed in a press conference question. That smells way worse than how the Jets handled it in 2007.

If I were commissioner, in light of two previous thefts in fake scandals, I would award the Patriots two extra first rounders in 2020, and a formal league apology.

But that's just me.

Speaking of apologies, I wonder if the Pats will ever get one for the Boger crew's inept performance during the KC game. I think the Cowboys got one for a couple of borderline tripping calls vs the Pats.

I still will be shocked if the Pats don’t cough up a draft pick along with a fine.

One thing the league could do as a compromise is to say that the Pats are being penalized because things like that cannot happen and the team should have taken all precautions to make sure it didnt. But then make a clear statement that the football side (assuming that is in fact true) was not responsible and it was in fact a careless error by the video crew and the team did not nor intend to benefit in any way from it. That should blunt most of the “they cheated again” talk.

The bold part is most important.

5K fine. Same as what Roethlisberger got for wearing an electronic device (Apple Watch) on the sidelines during a game in October. Double it if you want to do the repeat offender thing.

Thanks for the respectful response and a great pic.

I only brought it up because it's easy to have threads go south quickly when politics is introduced.

Booger already went public and justified the horse **** calls. So never

They need to include it in new employee orientation and contracts with ICs. Don't film the field or opposing coaches. End of discussion. When in doubt, ask before you do it....

I have a question and comment that may rub some of the Bob Kraft supporters the wrong way.

Since many are arguing that Kraft has a share of the success of the team then shouldn't he also share the blame when things go wrong?

I believe that Kraft should take the blame for this screw up. It had nothing to do with the football side of the operation but they'll take the heat for it. This is also a reflection of the poor way Kraft handled Crygate and Defamegate in the past.

Wouldn't it be incredible if the Pats went on to win the whole thing again this year, in spite of everything? You can bet your bippy that in spite of our troubles some teams still won't want to play the Pats in the playoffs.

Many times this year the league has apologized for bad/missed calls. Yes including the tripping penalties by Dallas.

I doubt we will ever get admission from the league that the Kelce and Harry plays were missed.

It all comes down to how we are playing and what they see on film. If the offense continues to be impotent, it won't matter.

Dude, take a nap. I get that your default is to be cranky but now you're just going overboard. It's an 80 page thread, only a complete an utter nerd expected someone to read the whole thing.
Dude, I wasn't demanding he read the whole freaking thread, just enough of it to spot one of the zillion posts already answering his question. Besides, taking a nap at 12:44 a.m. doesn't make much sense and cranky is better than weird, I always say.

Yes but the real guy who should be put in the iron maiden is....

Hes a VP for cripes sake. It all starts and stops with him and hes been around long enough to know better. Plus its not like hes running a 4000 person organization. I bet hes got a org of 15 people tops. If he has an inability to communicate and message his team something as important as the dos and don't of NFL Gameday policies he should be fired for incompetence.

Yes he should take the blame but what does that even mean? We gonna fire him?

He gets the blame and he’ll pay the fine. No one cares about that though. All we care about is if the team suffers via loss of draft picks. Then we will all move on.

Yup, and I'm willing to bet you can count his underlings on one hand. That self-satisfied chubster was asleep at the wheel.

He just flat out lied. Some ******** about the covering wing referee's view being "blocked."

Both referees had a clear and close view of what happened.

I'd like to see him take responsibility for the bad as well as the good.
