You’re right, there isn’t.

Except when you’re the Patriots and you’re bringing a camera crew into a stadium you don’t belong in.

Again, we’re going around in circles here. If you can’t see how it’s a bad look, I don’t know what else to tell ya.

And uh, clearly the league and other 31 teams care, hence the faux outrage.
They got permission.
I don’t care how it looks and I don’t care about bs complaining and outrage. Why you would let those things trigger you so harshly is on you.

Sorry, this was fing stupid for anyone associated with the Pats. Probably not a story if the filmed the Browns sideline. They told the Browns they were filming a story on an advance scout. They never asked the Bengals if it was OK to film the Bengals sideline. BB definitively said the filming was against the rules. It was. Were the Pats really trying to get an edge on the Bengals? Of course not. But it was still wrong, against the rules and so, so F’ing stupid.
They only needed permission from the Browns, the only stupid thing they did was film the sideline.

It’s nothing.

I wish this thread was reserved for actually discussing news and not just *****ing endlessly at each other.

Which to me is an indictment on the lack of training given to these cameramen.

Football operations had absolutely nothing to do with. So who is supposed to know that being assigned to film the day of an advance scout doesn’t allow any shots of what he is looking at?

I’m not talking football ops. I’m saying this production crew needed to understand what they could and could not film for their documentary. This was an honest mistake that could’ve been prevented.

I knew this was nothing from the very beginning, although I'm surprised they're going to admit so this time around.

The advanced scout
I’m sure he is doing his job scouting and not paying attention to a camera crew sent to observe his work.

Yup honest mistake, and no big deal.

The advanced scout
He was doing his actual job and knew nothing about what the camera guy was doing. It's not the scouts job to tell them what to tape and not tape. His job is to scout.

So babysitting, editor, director and producer weren't in the scout's job description?:p

Sure, that will work. The press box is the office of the advance scout on game days. Unless he is brain dead, the advance scout knows bout “spygate” as stupid as spygate isn’t. And it was ridiculous. The advance scout knows he and the Pats cannot film sidelines during a game. Kraft productions send some guy into the press box WITH A CAMERA. If I’m the advance scout I ask what the hell they are doing and ask if they know the taping rules. I tell them to get the camera the F out of the press box when the game starts. Being oblivious to the obvious is no way to go through life.

The impression I'm getting from these Pats-damning posts is that these posters have never worked in a large organization, where most people have no clue about the work being done by most of the other people. This is like expecting Marketing to be up to speed on what Finance is doing, and how they are doing it. Nobody cares and nobody has time.

The scouting department, in fact all of football operations, could go years without ever hearing about what the football documentary department is doing, or where they are doing it, or how they are doing it. And outside contractors are hired as part of projects like this all the time; these are specialists for hire that don't need to even like football.

It could be reasonable to believe as he's going about his day for the scout to take a casual look back and speculate the camera is pointed where it shouldn't.

It's also reasonable to assume the scout is going a million miles a minute and didn't think twice about it.

I believe the scout knew why they were there but because of their purpose, didn't think of it as a big deal or even broaching a rules violation.

I feel like you could copy this and just paste it in any thread that reaches more than 4 pages.
