Do you now take the freed up cap to pay Rob Gronkowski and make the post polarizing receiver in NFL history happy?

no and its just not how the Patriots operate. They will trade him if they think he is not all in and BB wont bat an eye. If Gronk wants to play, he will be here. If not, they will trade him for a first round pick...can you imagine

The most polarizing receiver in nfl history? Are you kidding me?

Someone asked Gronk If he was thinking about retiring after a Sb loss. He asked where in the world that can’t from and said he will think about his future during he off season.
He has said not another word.

Gronk cant be covered he is more polarizing than Rice and has been as dominating as Randy Moss.
Moss had a few off seasons Gronk has dominated every year hes been on the field.

What about Gronk and Rice do you think makes them polarizing?

I don't think paying Gronk more money is the answer.

This is where I am at now. We have paid Gronk over the years when we didn't have to and Gronk has consistently opted for security at a discount. I am fine with paying Gronk mega bucks if Gronk has plans to play for a while though...he is worth every penny, but not right now....I like giving extensions out to other 2019 UFA's to get them at 2018 inflation rates before the market surges in 2019 (case in example, we are paying Edelman and Hogan about what Miami is paying Amendola).

Actually, it is how they operate. See Vollmer bump after signed longterm deal.

I don’t think we need to up his contract, but making it less reliant on hitting incentives would be a good compromise. His base is about $5m I believe and he had to get all pro to secure his $10m. Guys like S Watkins getting $17m a year while he needs to hit all pro to get his $10m is a pretty hard pill to swallow. Making that $10m less incentive laden is fair.

Not sure why it would take that much cap room to add on some incentives. If anything, they could just give him some extra money, but how much would that cost? 1-1.5m?

Games played/snap %, reception, yards, td incentives then yes. Bump his base, no
I would have voted in the poll but for some bizarre reason Ray Lewis Killed a Guy was not there...

You're killin me man. You went from not having a worthwhile poll choice to adding 2 winners. But as much as I enjoy Tom Jackson spewing the worst hot taek of all time...

...yeah, Ray Lewis Killed a Guy (anyone know if there's any truth behind the urban myth fnord has the white suit?)

Gronk in his prime hasn't been NEARLY as dominant as Rice or Moss in their primes. Not even close.
