Unfortunately there's too much out there suggesting that the #3 comp pick is the best we're getting. On the radio I heard this morning that the pick is a conditional 2nd or 3rd. Probably a 3rd if they don't sign him longterm or franchise him. A 2nd if they sign him.
Getting the 33rd pick in the draft changes everything in terms of a valuation of this trade.

Not surprised by the quote, no coach is going to bash the guy.
A 2018 4th rounder. So what if Cleveland doesn't get a conditional 3rd what then??? I would have kept and let him walk in the Off season.
I have a feeling we'll fall short this year and it will be on the defense..... this trade doesn't help that.
The best offense of all-time putting up 14 may have had something to do with losing Super Bowl XLII. As does the 32 PPG offense putting up 17 (plus handing the Giants a safety) in Super Bowl XLVI.we lost 2 super bowls because of defense
I don't think there was anyone happy about Milloy leaving either. From what I recall there were a number of unhappy campers with that move, but they did not "hate their coach".He doesn't sound happy.
Rodney was a big part of the team getting their heads back. He has said many times during interviews that after the first game in buffalo, he told brady and co, that this is the NFL, he just got cut from the chargers, people have to move on . etc etc.I don't think there was anyone happy about Milloy leaving either. I imagine it is a similar feeling in that locker room right now. We've just gotta see if they respond the right way, as they did in 2003. I'm not too panicky about the locker room. Bill isnt ignorant of the fact that this move wouldn't be popular among other players and some coaches.
More concerned about losing
While what you post is factually correct it leaves out the point that a defense given the lead to protect at the end of the game should hopefully get the job done. To give the defense credit, it did prevent Seattle from scoring after almost blowing that game also. The best offense of all-time putting up 14 may have had something to do with losing Super Bowl XLII. As does the 32 PPG offense putting up 17 (plus handing the Giants a safety) in Super Bowl XLVI.
I wish a reporter had the balls to say after BB's response to "why did you trade Collins ?", his answer of course will be "we always try to do what we feel is the best for the team". My response to that would be "How is trading your BEST defender the best move for the team ?" And of course he will just respond "we always try to do what we feel is best for the team." But at least have to balls to ask the question. You may not get the answer you want, but at least the question gets asked.
