wasn't galloway's problem that he couldn't run routes? in any event, holt is a much better route runner. even if he gets 4-5 catches a game I'd be happy.

Looks like we like to have WRs with four letters in thier last name

Moss,Holt,Tate

Who's next?

rice......

I'll bet Jerry Rice and Cris Carter would come cheap

we should look into them

Moss, Welker, Edelman, Holt looks pretty deadly to me if they are all on the field at the same time. Draft Damian Williams as well and that would be my ideal WR situation.

Nice- not a bad signing. Now, if the Pats draft Dez Bryant, they'll be totally set at WR.

I love the signing. He's still got some game in him plus he has a lot of wisdom he can share with the younger guys. I think he'll be productive for us. Now we need to pick up a TE.

I'm worried about this guy, I think he is a potential cotract holdout like Crabtree last year. He also didn't look like he prepared himself properly for his pro-day which is a really bad sign. Like what shape will this guy get into in the offseasons during his NFL career.

I think he is hugely talented but there are too many ifs about his personality for my liking.

I can't imagine why anyone would dislike this signing. We've been b*tching ever since Gaff left, and Holt is better than Gaff. The Pats now have a legit WR corp again. Yes, he's not a spring chicken, but that doesnt mean he cant play. I expect Welker to be pup'd, so we needed another vet on the field, even if its a different role.

After week 6;

Moss
Welker
Holt
Edelman

thats better (imho) than what won us our first SB ;

Troy Brown
David Patten
Fred Coleman
Charles Johnson

Seriously. A lot of people on this board have been saying that Holt makes sense and b!tching about us not give Brady any new FA weapons [they just want all superstar weapons].

Well he's probably the best FA WR right now so you can't say the Pats are doing nothing in free agency: they've signed D. Lewis, Crumpler, Patten, and now Holt--that's more than most teams have done.

Im sure someone will still say the Pats FO hasnt done anything

I would still be concerned about the TE position, but its not like they were throwing to TEs last year anyway

Not a bad signing because there is no risk to it. The "he's better than Aiken" while true is damning him with faint praise if I've ever heard it.

Holt has put up mediocre numbers the last 2 years on a couple bad teams with bad passing offenses. The flip side of that is it also put him on the field a whole lot in garbage time when defenses sit back in prevent and allow WRs to pile up yards.

Does he have anything left? Who knows at this point. With the current state of the WR position he is the clear favorite to line up on the outside opposite Moss on opening night. Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to see him cut in training camp.

I know you can't judge someone's personality from a skills competition, but the college skills competition was on ESPN2 last night. Dez Bryant reminds me of Ochocinco, he's a goofball. He was joking around with the WRs and then went over to the kickers and started immitating them. He came off as a lighthearted, funny, kind of guy.

Holt has missed very few games throughout his career.

I think NE will draft another WR high in this draft.

don't forget we added Crumpler and still can draft a TE tomorrow, so Brady will have plenty of weapons to throw to. Can you imagine Brady having:

Moss, Welker, Edelman, Holt, Tate and Gresham/Pitta? That would be sick.
