Pats still interested in Sherman

I'm thinking Sherman is WAY better than Butler. Everyone agree?
I agree. The only question as @robertweathers brought up, would be a longer term deal for Butler (which I'd personally prefer) vs. 2 years of Sherman. Even then, there are some other factors in play.

To be completely honest, I'm good with either one, but I do agree with you that Butler isn't on Sherman's level.

Same. I'll take either at this point but, if I'm being honest, I'll take Sherman in a heart beat over Butler.

They could, theoretically, fit all three on the roster for 2017 and let Butler walk next season.

Don't forget Revis

Rodney was a hardass; Moss was flamboyant; Revis I didn't root for: every time Revis made a play, I wished it were somebody I could root for.

Sherman is a jerk.

Unlike some here, I know that I'm a fan. I don't labor under the delusion that I'm some hardnosed assistant GM. I root for guys I like, or find amusing, or I like their story. That's why I don't follow the NBA any more, a league that is now wall-to-wall a------s, as quite likely the NFL will be in the all-too-near future. It's been a nice run.

I think they are different but Sherman has had the better career. I trust Sherman against most receivers, but not theAntonio Browns, Butler is better against smaller quicker WRs but that's all. Given the unit I think Sherman and Gilmore with a good slot corner would be deadly, and I think the Joneses can cover the slot receivers. The league is big at WR and two guys who have the size and physicality that Gilmore and Sherman have would be really tough to deal with. I doubt it haopens but I would love it.

Really, you don't buy a player; you sign a contract. Sherman might be the better player. but Butler is clearly the better contract, for reasons I posted some time ago, before this thread became tedious.

So I think too often people go "I disagree with that person therefore he is a bad person."

Have you ever listened to Sherman in interviews on the radio? I might not have always agreed with him but he tended to at least have a rationale for his words and deeds. Sure he did the 'U mad bro' thing but he also walked over and stuck out his hand to congratulate Brady during the Super Bowl.

Do you think Edelman is a jerk too? Because if you do then fine, at least you're consistent. But if you don't see Edelman's behavior on the field and find it similar to Sherman I'm going to have a hard time believing you aren't just being a homer about it.

Unfortunately the Colts are going to get a great defensive prospect... Grigson is gone, so we can't count on them blowing it

Hooker showed a lot of ball hawking skills at OSU, but he's still pretty raw having only played one real season. You're right about losing Grigson though, as that's someone we will all miss.
