Pats skip walkthrough today

I'm nervous. Everyone picking the Pat's, many in a blowout, the team being loose is good, but they were loose last year...

Have the Pats ever skipped the final walkthrough before?

not sure why they wouldn't want to go over every last detail. How does BB know every single player understands exactly what they have to do. Practice never hurts,..
Not saying it’s anywhere close to being comparable, but.....

I had to take a series of 11 professional exams to join a professional society that’s required for a full career in my field. Offered every 6 months, passing rates between 40-50% of exam takers. Not exaggerating when I say that each exam required about 300 hours of study time to learn the material to the extent they required. Exams started at 8:30 in the morning. I used to study late into the night the night before. One sitting I basically wound up panicking during the exam because I was so jittery; failed that one pretty badly.

Changed my strategy the next exam. I closed my books at 5:00 the night before the exam. Under the theory that if I don’t know this stuff by now, nothing I can do from here will help any further. I intentionally tried to do the most lighthearted things that evening to try to relax me. Watching Caddyshack, etc. I was so relaxed during the exam because my mind was so clear. Hit hard questions, didn’t panic and was able to answer them. This exam turned out to be a harder exam than the last time but I passed it this time - even though I knew the material just as well both times.

Followed this strategy for all subsequent exams. I wasn’t perfect - went 9 for 13 as opposed to the 2 for 6 before implementing this strategy - but I was happy knowing that the 4 failures weren’t due to analysis paralysis. They were due to either not having the material down pat (and late night cramming wouldn’t have helped) or curveball exams where they tested items that hadn’t been tested in 10 years and I made the strategic decision to not waste time studying for. Those things happen.

I think Belichick might be feeling something similar - he has changed his approach since SB 42 (which really did seem to suffer from football “analysis paralysis” with the undefeated season pressure added) and has done more light prep at the end this decade compared to the past.

He’s checking his schedule, thought it was the rams team photo....

McVay and Goff stole the fake playbook that Greg Brady put out in plain sight.

Chris

Why do you think?

Oh, look, Jonathan Kraft is sitting on Bob Kraft’s lap like a ventriloquist dummy.

How interesting that it’s actually Groundhog Day because I feel a sense of deja vu reading these posts. It feels like every year people read something into how “loose” the Pats are before the big game and then it starts and everyone melts down when the team starts slowly.
This is what I’ve been saying all week, as negative as it likely comes across.

This is the same pattern every single trip to the SB. I suppose many seem to have short memories. Bill is all smiles and super laid back, talking about how ready the team is—every single time. We hear people talk about how laid back he looks at his Friday presser—every single time.

He obviously tries to instill a level of confidence and has a much more easy going approach. You can’t fault him for wanting the players to enjoy the experience, but I don’t think we can take all that much out of it, either, especially considering that all 8 games have been absolute nail biters.

That's true but, again, I'm having GREAT feelings. To see the team loose on media day, and Belichick giving the guys an extra day off before the game says a lot about them going into the game.
I think they are gonna roll.

I have forseen this

I've felt confident in this one since the KC game ended, the only other time I felt this confident was the Philly super bowl. They should have this super bowl preparation stuff down pat by now.

Because the game should be over by then. And then we'll know.
I have a reading disability. I missed "after".

I gave you a "funny" :p

This was a horrible/great* idea!

*Depending on the traditional one lucky play/call (Philly Special, Seahawks throwing at goal line, Helmet catch, Falcons passing after Julio reception, etc.) that either goes our way or doesn't
