No complaints with them on the 90 man training camp roster. Hopefully they end up cut when we go down to 53 because we've added more talent. Neither were good as starters last year but if they end up back on the very backend of the roster, whatever. Brown seems like a 3rd center level player which is usually a practice squadder. Jacobs seems like a 4th or 5th OT, which is on the edge of roster (4th) vs. PS (5th).

Doug Marrone must be miracle worker like Scar along the OL: if he wants to work with a bum like Jacobs.

Dirt cheap, cost controlled camp body. If he makes the team, then the OL was improved or he got better. He’s still fairly young, so let’s hope if he makes the team it’s because of the latter.

I agree.

I do think that our #3 center should be on the 53, as well as the #4 OT.
OG - 3
C - 2
OG/C -1
OT - 4

We have zero OL's that we are sure will be playing for us in 2026. Onwenu could even be traded. So, we should continue to have 10 on the roster.

They are bargain basement cheap and have experience. Don't even affect the cap right now anyway due to rule of 51.

I think Brown is good enough to be a 2nd string center. Jacobs can be a fringe swing tackle, which is probably worth a backend roster spot. Neither are starters, but they have some value. I've seen worse.

If I were the new OL coach, I’d want to take a look to see what I can do with them.

It's always hilarious to me when people whine about the back-end roster players. Especially ones whom the Pats control the rights to because they are ERFA..

These are the same sorts of people who hated Slater. Whined when Edelman didn't immediately replace Welker and complained when the Pats brought other players along slowly..

Is Austin the only ERFA left unsigned?

Training Camp/Preseason Bodies.

Why?? Jacobs is not NFL material.
Maybe because even though he isn’t NFL material, he is the best OT we have. And he costs ZERO DOLLARS AND ZERO CENTS when cut?

Ideally both are cut because we brought in players who belong on an nfl roster.

This must signal something Going on with Andrews? Jacobs resigned?????

Only decent one, I think. Ellis is also out there, though is an RFA.
Austin should be next.

Then the team needs to make decisions on the RFA's: Elliss and Cotton by March 4th. There will no franchise tags which need to be in by March 4th.

and then on the remaining 9 free agent (UFA's)
Brissett
Hooper
Hasty
Ekuale
Wise
Ximinez
J Jones
Hawkins
Slye

In perfect circumstances yeah, definitely. But I won’t cry if Jacobs is the 53rd player as a 3rd string swing tackle. Optimistically they sign a better swing tackle and he is just a camp body with experience.

I doubt any of those UFAs get signed before free agency. They’ll probably let them all hit the market and see what’s out there. I don’t even know how many they want to keep anyway. Perhaps Ekuale, Wise.
