The Jake Bequette saga continues? Or just throwing a bone to a good soldier who doesn't have much time left in the NFL world?

Seems like they bumped up the top 4 guys in terms of experience at first glance, although Davis has been around for a bit, too.

I thought when Chandler Jones went down that maybe that would be a chance for Bequette to get the bump to the active roster and show something. Considering they used Easley a DT outside and traded for Ayers I am surprised they gave Bequette a raise.

I'm really hoping not to lose Boyce to someone else while he's on the Practice Squad. I'm still a believer in him and Amendola will likely be gone next year (unless he reduces his $4M salary).

Would love to see how Josh Boyce picks up things the next time around TC that is.

cheap ass kraft. stupid patriots, should have taken then 30k per game and given it to Vjax.

Those dangerous pictures of BB comes at a price...Jake made the most of them.

Cheap bastards...

$136,700 for the year
6,300 * 9 = $56,700
$10,000 * 8 = $80,000

Thanks.
Given the frequency of injury, and the little protection they have if they do get injured, this is still peanuts.

If my boss came to me and said, "Hey, were gonna bump you up an extra $3700 a week" I wouldn't consider that peanuts. If my boss came to me and said out of the blue "we're giving you a raise" I'd die of shock and would never see the first check.

In sum, it is peanuts. Don't let the weekly raise fool you.

Your boss:
1) Enjoy the raise, because after a few more weeks, we are going to stop paying you altogether until next summer.
2) Oh, and by the way, the odds on you being with us next autumn are very slim.
3) In fact, the odds of you being in this profession in two years are slim as well.
4) Oh, and by the way, the odds of you leaving with a life long injury or two are pretty high, and you probably won't be around long enough to get any health care coverage for it from us.
5) Maybe you are thinking you should have gotten a real college degree now, instead of the football one you got at that football factory school you went to?

Sorry man, no matter how much we idealize it, the reality for the players who don't get significant contracts is pretty grim.

Huh? On the practice squad?

And since when did an extra $30,000 for three months' work become peanuts?

Jake Bequette will now make $136,700 this year instead of $107,100.

Somebody should shine the black light on Bequette face to check...ahem......

The more you argue that these guys aren't being paid enough, the bigger a deal the $30K is.

And by the way, if they don't play in games their chance of seriously disabling injury is down, full-pads practices notwithstanding. Also, even a marginal NFL/practice squad career probably helps with future career prospects in areas such as coaching.
