i agree. from last year you get Gay And Harrison back from injury to go along with Hobbs.Wilson, and Samuel. then you bring in Warfield and Tebucky. Even without Law, its is now a strength on the team.
same with the OL.

I'm not sure I'd go that far. Some of those guys are just names we know. There's no guarantee Warfield and Tebucky will do anything - 'though they certainly could. Plus, both Wilson and Samuel had inconsistent years.

Not trying to be contrarian or pessimistic, just don't think we should get ahead of ourselves here. I remember this time last year, we were "loaded" with the youngsters coming back, plus Poole healthy and Starks coming in.

Don't forget the young and strong DL....

And we came to within a game of uncharacteristic poor play and extremely questionable officiating with hosting the AFCGG.

I wouldn't use last year as an example for being pessimistic.

Let's not get too excited. That looks remarkably similar to the list of DBs that gave us a pass defense that ranked 31st in yards allowed last year. Only SF was worse. Yeah, Starks is gone, but Rodney won't be back for a while, and no one in KC shed a tear when Warfield left. With Willie Mac gone, we've got big holes in this defense. Since SB39, we lost TJ, Phifer, Willie and Ty. And probably Rodney for a while longer this year. That's a LOT of talent.

This team has come full circle since the 1st SB. In 2001, the defense carried the offense - 11 of 16 games with 17 points allowed or less. Last year, 6 games, only 3 of them before December.

Fortunately, we reloaded the offense in the draft, and we could be up there with KC and Indy in total offense. The O could be that good, as long as the D can get off the field.

I'm not gonna worry about Wilson and Samuel. Last season was only "bad" season they had. Much of it had to do with the fact that they were the only DB's who played every game! Hobbs came in and became an immideate playmaker. Samuel had solid safety help with Hawkins and whadda ya know he starts becoming an INT machine(yeah not really a machine but still most the Pats got all season from a player...Hobbs and him). I'm a tad over excited about our secondary just because the last games and post season games they player really well, maybe not great in Denver but our defense held us in it in the early stages. I'm telling you, Wilson, Hobbs and Samuels are all playmakers with potential to be stars, if Harrison and all three of them can stay healthy I expect all of them to have a very good season. I would be pleased to see those 3 and Sanders as our future in the secondary. I dunno if you want Gay as a starter...I might but Hobbs is certainly a starter and WILL BE A PRO BOWLER!!! Next Ty Law...who hopefully wont turn out to be a jack@ss
