Patriots waive Marquice Cole again

People sure give Marq baby a hard time.

Maroney bugged me. Hernandez bugged me. Even Crable bugged me. I expected something from them. I don't mind Cole, because he's not expected to be anything more than a STer with a few plays in the back four (or five) when someone goes down. Is he a good defensive back ? Not particularly. But no one ever professed he was....

Cole to me is the definition of worse case scenario. Talib goes down after shutting down Bolden and here comes Cole to give Bolden a career day. That touchdown he gave up before halftime is what I have come to expect from him. And I hate how gunners breeze by him. If he isn't covering a kick, then I don't want him on the field under any circumstance(wr can convert to db b4 cole).

I heard he has had a calf injury; I also wouldn’t be surprised if they just like one of the players on the PS better now like Justin Green or they want to bring up an extra tackle like RJ Dill. Cole did field a punt after running out of bounds but I personally saw it as a good play but who knows how the coaches see it.

I honestly would rather have Justin Green at CB than Cole. I thought Green played a solid in the Denver game matched up on players like Thomas and Decker he held his own.

For his special teams play. He was the "best" that the Jesters had.. Which really isn't saying much. Cole has been a disappointment in general. He's had a couple of special teams plays and he had the one interception on the tip from McCourty. But beyond that, he's been nothing special. Certainly not even close to a Matt Slater type player.

There aren't 53 x 32 good players. Add in injuries and that makes the number even greater. Every team needs to fill the back of the roster with less talented players... BB obviously prefers Cole to the alternative.

Guy by the name of Sam McGuffie (RB/WR) out of Rice. 5'10/200 lbs.. 42 in vertical. 4.36 - 40. 3.93 short shuttle , 6.57 3-Cone..

Is McGuffie going to be active? That would be so cool. He was this little demon coming out of high school who went to Michigan and didn't fit with their bigger elite recruits.

He's a Danny Woodhead scooter clone with tremendous speed, and plays the slot as well. If he's the guy wearing #39 at practice today, it would be great to give Edelman this week and the bye week off, and work him into the mix.

McGuffie is one of those football guys who has kicked around and never found the right fit because he's under-sized and fearless. The Raiders are such idiots. They couldn't figure out how to work McGuffie into their offense.
