a good WR can get deep. Even the 4.6 type like Welker would occasionally get deep on those "in and up" routes that I am always wanting to see more of. Welker would do his usual crossing pattern about 10 yds deep, then break up into the seam. I love that route, but we don't see it much Same goes for Hopkins I guess, but PF, just look at the record and see where a vast majority of his catches have been made. He has averaged around 12 yds/catch the last 4 or 5 years. Those are good numbers, but he didn't get them by "being a deep threat". It was more running great routes in the mid-range and be good at yards after the catch.

Make no mistake, I hope we get him, but let's not make him into someone he's not
I know I am just thinking of the possibilities Mac will have in the passing game D-Hop - Juju and our TE's somebody gotta be open.

It's a tad ironic and sad that the most physically taxing positions in football no longer gets paid or has become replaceable... And largely because they get hurt.

I feel sorry for the running backs. The NFL PA should lobby for some incentives for RB because they become dispensable after rookie season and do not get larger contracts after 4 year period. Very few are able to milk it. If a RB has a 1000 yard season as a rookie he needs to get an incentive of 2 million dollars if he was drafted in round 2 or below . RB rookie contracts should be limited to 3 years and franchise tag for 4th and 5th year .

QB is the most important position but the amount of hits a RB takes , they deserve to be paid a bit more than what they make currently. Rhamondre over his 4 years would possibly make as many dollars as what Daniel Jones made in his rookie year.

Yeah, was thinking this when the news of Elliot holding out for more $$ came through. Elliot wants to get paid for what he's done, not what he's likely to do at this point. They need a different contract structure for RB's, to allow them to get paid as they produce rather than after they've proven it, because often it is too late by then.

Maybe some type of sliding-scale Bonus plan for total yards, yards/attempt etc... But this money would have to come from the league, and Not from a team's salary cap burden; otherwise you're right back where you started...

what exactly does that mean, the Pats had 3 injury waivers on his contract?

See the discussion here for Garoppolo:

when you look a film a lot, P, someone is ALWAYs "open" It's often a question of whether it's the first read, or the 4th. Remember 60% completion rate is now the Medoza line for NFL passers and it's creeping up to 65%. Given that I sometimes find it hard to see why EVERY game both teams don't score 30-40 points. But that's a topic for another thread

Robinson & JuJu are both hurt?

Who the hell checks their injuries before signing them?
