Isn't Brady throwing the ball to hard on many passes

Wendell needs to be benched, Connolly needs to be moved back to center, and Cannon needs to start at RG. The interior blocking, particularly from Wendell and Connolly, was bad for the third straight game. The difference between last week and this week was that this week was far more noticeable due to the fact that the Bengals have the horses up front to take advantage of it, where the Falcons did not.

As disappointing this loss was, being 4-1 is a good start for this team.

1) OL got owned early
2) horrible play calling on the goal line in the 4th quarter.
3) danny who? hopefully that was just rust today
4) offense just plain did not execute and did not make the plays when needed
5) D still looking great (hopefully Kelly did not injure himself severely)

Good points especially No. 2 I thought Amendola held his own considering some time off but wish he would have had Presence of mind to roll into endzone at 1/2 inch line he would have had a TD ahead of DBs tag touch.

Such a great post. Hoody lets Welker go, TB's security blanket, and after losing AH BB did nothing to replace him. Someone needs to tell Bill that yes, you CAN have to many 5'9 185 receivers, who cant jump, run, or make people miss. Brady has such small windows to throw in, especially on deep balls, that its amazing he does what he does.

And no, a UDFA Thompkins doesn't count as trying to get Brady weapons. The book on Dobson was that he is inconsistent hands and wasn't the brightest, and look what we have

Gotta love when people make garbage up.
BB didn't "let Welker go". Welker refused the 2 year deal that the Pats offered him during last season and then refused the deal they offered him prior to his signing with Denver.

Dobson and Boyce are both over 6' and Amendola was 5'10 4/8" at his combine. Claiming that Thompkins doesn't count because he is a UDFA is a joke.

The book on Dobson was that he is a "Savvy route-runner whose body control and reliable hands made him a standout at the Senior Bowl" (-NFL Draft Scout).

"Dobson is a smooth, high-cut receiver who can run an extensive route tree from the perimeter of the offensive formation. He was used in the underneath passing game on both in- and out-breaking routes and showed good discipline in his double-move routes to stretch the field vertically. He shows very good speed and an excellent catch frame"
Scouting report: Aaron Dobson - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

" Dobson lines up almost every play on the left side of the field. He has quick feet and displays awareness on how to get open. Dobson has great balance, hands and body control as evidenced by "the catch" against ECU." http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/college_player_scouting_report.html&player=42242

If you are going to make claims about a player, I suggest you back it up with some actual FACT instead of flat out lying..

called it, cowboys upset Bronos
Common Phalic Cow Toys !!

Are those toys shaped like a cows phallus or phallic toys shaped like a cow? Curious minds want to know.

Worry about that in 2014. Its ridiculous the mess that BB has surrounded Brady with.

That's something that the Patriots have to be thinking about with EVERY move they make.

Awful, awful, awful performance by this offense. It has me SERIOUSLY questioning whether Brady still has it. I counted at least 4 times where a receiver was WIDE OPEN, but supposedly Brady ran the wrong route and didn't throw it to him. That bull**** has to stop with him.

Amendola and Edelman are way too similar of a player. I'm now wondering why they even signed Amendola if Edelman would prove to be just as effective and cheaper. This could be a huge point of contention in the offseason.

The rookies were beyond frustrating today. Thompkins was invisible and CAN'T CATCH CLEANLY. Dobson had a guaranteed TD but fumbled it away. Boyce invisible. These three players are going to be benched once Gronkowski returns.

Speaking of Gronk, I really doubt he is going to change this team offensively. Brady will lock on to him and make the offense even more one-dimensional.

At Running Back, Ridley and Vereen are sorely missed. Blount and Bolden are decent depth guys but cannot be trusted to carry the load alone.

The defense has proven to be legit, but man there are some major questions. Chandler Jones has been invisible all too often and I wonder if he will ever develop into what we think he can be. He is taken out of the play all too often.

At DT, if Kelly is hurt, Bill NEEDS to sign or trade for a vet. Starting 2 UDFAs at DT is waving the white flag.

One flippin loss and you question whether Brady still has it? How bout some credit to the Bengals for playing an excellent game on D. How about some credit to Brady for having this team at 4-1 with this receiving corps. Get a grip! Neither team passed the ball well. The only TD in the whole game was on a run. I am surprised TB could see anything the last 2 minutes with that rain. It's one loss to a very good D. LIke someone said last week 2007 ruined alot of fans. Now the Pats are expected to win every game. The NYG's won 2 Super Bowls off us with Regular Season records of 9-7 and 10-6. Give me 9-7 and a SB any day of the week over 16-0 and 14-2 and nothing to show for it.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking. They need more push and they are not getting it from that combo.

So its OK if Dopson is always dropping passes because he has more catches than drops? Lets not forget the fumble either that he luckily recovered today.

It's OK if Dobson is constantly running the wrong route because more times than not he runs the correct one?

Not sure if you're related to Dobson but he has been awful this year. For a NFL wide receiver he drops too many passes and runs the wrong route too many times.

Dobson isn't consistently dropping passes. He's also not constantly running the wrong routes. Those are fabrications on your part. How many times do you have to be told by the people in the KNOW that he's not. And by in the know, I mean people like Brady, BB, etc. OH wait. I bet you think they just suck the players' balls all the time.

Why don't you stop listening to the moron announcers for a change. You'll learn a lot more.

Brady did not look good today and he never dose vs a team that can rush the QB up the middle and I am also not sure why they only ran the ball 18 times in a game that was lost by just a TD way to many pass att in a bad weather game with WR's that drop a lot of passes,

the good is this defense is for real 5 weeks in and they are a top 10 defense I just wish they would have played a more old school football game with 30 or more rush att they were getting over 4 per att to...the good thing is it was on the road vs a cincy team that will not win more then 9 or 10 games this year so they will not hold any seeding ties over the pats come playoff time and I have to say 4-1 with all the injuries is pretty good

Look at the bright side borges, wilfork is out for the year, that had to give you wood.

Are your normally fixated on posters "wood"? Why the personal attacks? Should I be celebrating the Blount running attack or the Solder TE red zone option like the typical "Pats Good World Bad" fan boys which I presume you're a card carrying member. Try a little independent thought now and then...it MIGHT get you some credibility now and then.

Brady is starting to lose a step but that is to be expected when you get into your late 30's. Its not helping that BB decided to surround Brady with such a piss poor receiving core.

Let's go back to just after the draft. Coming out of that NE had as receivers:
* Gronk
* Hernandez
* Edelman
* Amendola
* Thompkins
* Dobson
* Boyce
* And Vereen out of the backfield

That's far, far from a "piss poor receiving corps", and our offense would have been humming merrily along with that.

Man I pray 87 comes back next week, he's gonna make such a difference.

Brian Waters just had a good block for Dallas. How come we don't get players like that.

Can someone explain why that wasn't a safety on the play that Tommy made? Honestly curious on that one. Would appreciate it

Supposedly, it's the equivalent of Forward progress for a RB. It matters where he was hit, not where he ends up..

I understand where you are coming from. This has been a bad time for the interior line. Still, I would be more than a little surprised to see BB bench Wendell. He is pretty entrenched there, makes the calls on blocking assignments, and had a great year last year. Before today, people were talking about the OL as a strength and one of the best. Sitting a center is not like benching a WR or a RB. It is a more permanent switch, and I don't see it happening.

No team is going undefeated. Every loss teaches a team something, and great coaches correct the problems. Patriots will take some very good lessons from this game. Everyone is supprised with how well Brady and your team has done with less than most.

what we got from the game is Brady has a problem playing outdoors….err.. you should build a Dome.
