Why? Because Belichick thought that we needed someone. Why?
I hope he's cleared to Practice and play in the Preseason game we need to see something second year man.
Yeah he's been in the Tub a little too much for our liking. I am sure he sees the other Rookie WR's making plays especially D Douglas. If Douglas winds up hitting, that would soften the blow a bit. But I am officially concerned with Thornton at this point.
No, I haven't seen anything, but I'm mainly just following the beat guys' twitter (x) feeds.@Zuma @mike_usagisan
have either of you guys come across a roster list for camp with jersey numbers?
haven't had to time to wade thru the camp threads all too much, hoping either of you knew of such a list... Thanks
The Thornton "situation" is largely in the eyes of posters.Really sad about the Thornton situation.
Really hoping the kid turns it around.
I got a auto Thornton Jersey, helmet and photo.
Agreed until “IMO, the most vulnerable of the 5 is Bourne, not Thornton.” They will carry 5 including Bourne. Bourne has more receiving yards with Mac than anyone on the Patriots. There is a familiarity there. Removing that talent would be a mistake IMO.The Thornton "situation" is largely in the eyes of posters.
Yes, there is a question with regard to whether he will be our #3, #4 or #5 WR. Ok, so? He should be cut because he isn't a top option after one season and part of another pre-season? NOT! Belichick will give him at least another season to develop.
Thornton WILL make the 53. He won't cut for Nixon or Boutte or Webb or Putts.
I think that Belichick would be OK with 4 WR's, but I think now that returner Douglas is likely to make the 53, he'll make room for 5.
IMO, the most vulnerable of the 5 is Bourne, not Thornton.
He's made a two year commitment wherever he has gone.Let's say Mac have a super year and Patriots sports a Top Ten Offense will OC BOB be back?? Will it be One and Done for him? He was a HC before.
Guilty???.Let me just add that it's hilarious how all offseason there was handwringing and concern that we had no WR's... now we have too many and can't decide who to cut.
To be fair most of these conversations are about a lack of a true “WR1” .Let me just add that it's hilarious how all offseason there was handwringing and concern that we had no WR's... now we have too many and can't decide who to cut.
Bourne is vulnerable due to issues last season and being up for free agency. The Thornton "situation" is largely in the eyes of posters.

Let's not be cutting anyone until the real hitting starts. When they line up vs another team, then we will really get a feel for what's up.Let me just add that it's hilarious how all offseason there was handwringing and concern that we had no WR's... now we have too many and can't decide who to cut.
I think if Tyquan gets banged up again and Douglas - Boutte and Nixon lights it up I think he's headed for IR. He would have plenty of time to contemplate and still be on our Books.Bourne is vulnerable due to issues last season and being up for free agency.
Thornton is vulnerable due to missing valuable reps.
Would Bill move on from a player he traded up to draft in a deep WR draft.
Conventional wisdom says no.
But if Boutte lights up preseason and Bourne picks up where he left off 2020 or is reupped in the coming weeks than Thornton is not guaranteed anything l.
I'll believe it when I see it.The way Isaiah bolden is performing , Bryant is out and possibly one of the older special teamers.
That and spending time too much in the Hot Tub.Damn is Thornton struggling?
