This sounds reasonable, but it really isn't. By mid-season, lots of teams will want to pick players off Practice Squads as they build for 2024.

Last year I believe only one rookie WR was claimed off of waivers (out of more than 200 claims). And the vast majority of the claims happened at cut-down. Other teams just don't know what they are getting with an untried player that is unfamiliar with their system.

Seems like a lot of positive comments coming from Belichick and Bourne this off-season so far. Plus the reports that it kinda came down to him vs Hopkins and they elected to stick with him. I’m getting the feeling he’s pretty safe on the roster.

I’m hoping that Juju, Parker, and Bourne are solidly established as the top WRs. All three have shown that they can consistently produce catches playing in the NFL. None of the other WRs have, with TT just needing to expand his body of work to show he can sustain consistency. Until Thornton and the others compile a body of work they are still just prospects.
