Douglas continues to get plenty of work with frontline players and Mac Jones, and his quickness has been noticeable. He grabbed a shallow cross from Zappe as Bryant chased from behind in 11-on-11s, offering a glimpse of his explosiveness.

Great to see that Douglas is explosive, but almost all receivers look explosive compared to Bryant.
Good observation. I really saw him no more than a gadget player. Some experts here say none of it matters. Perhaps it doesn’t. But to me it’s hope…hope that we found a diamond in the rough and this specific player becomes our next slot WR for a long time. Hope is important to me. I enjoy this time of year.

Yep, and in the absence of full-contact two-a-days, the real evaluation process will begin during the first scrimmages vs Houston or GB; I don't place a lot of stock on these practices vs teammates.

The next step for Douglas is when the pads come on. Can he take hits going across the middle. Is he elusive enough to avoid too many hits. Can he create separation with the pads and added weight he put on.

I know it's a sucker's bet, but I'm still hoping that Shawn Wade figures it out. World of talent, size and speed. He'd be a nice piece to make sure Jon and Marcus can stay more inside.

Bolden might be that guy, too. Physically, it's all there.
I expect (hope?) that Bolden beats out Wade for a roster spot.

Is the key really taking hits across the middle. Does Thornton meet that test?

Of course he doesn't. The only tests he does meet are the tall & straight-line fast ones.

I keep on hearing when Mac throws a pick he goes by himself and takes mental reps. I think that they should pay for a qb coach for him. Just my opinion. Obrien has enough on his plate.
How often is he throwing a pick and going aside that would require a special QB coach since I think they have a QB coach, it could be Judge if that is the case then they should get a QB coach.

Thornton? He’s not a slot receiver…you know that. Their is always a higher percentage of getting clobbered going over the middle then running foot races downfield.

Assuming Jack Jones is out, If Gonzo is a true #1 outside CB as advertised, when he's ready they'll likely have him lockdown the #2 WR 1:1 while Jon Jones gets safety help 2:1 on the #1 WR. That's what they did with Gilmore, Revis, and Talib.
Still waiting

This is worth monitoring makes one of Judon and Uche a trade piece for that Higgins/Jeudy/ type of talent.
With all due respect, the only reason you trade Uche is if contract talks are 100% a no-go. The inoy reason why you trade Judon is if he has clearly lost a step. If White pans out his rookie year and finally gives you a great rotational piece to grow into the role, you don't trade anyone. Take the win and enjoy the fruits of your labor.

Ok, now I'm feeling like they think they have something in Bolden. He's getting a ton of run with the first team defense. Maybe...MAYBE...he can kick Myles Bryant to the curb.
Thanks for that. I’ve seen that he’s getting PBUs, plural. Didn’t realize he is on the field with the first team D. I’m hoping he will be good enough to make Jack look replaceable. Or if necessary post the stats to prove that.

The pats may have a top 5 CB trio with Jack Jones suspended in Gonzalez, Jonathan Jones & Marcus Jones. Their group with Jack Jones will contend with the jets for the best in the NFL.
Let's slow down some with that one... Jonathan didn't look real good outside the numbers last year; he's better-suited at either FS or SCB; Marcus is also better Inside than Outside; and Gonzo hasn't yet played vs anybody but his own teammates.
.
Jack isn’t suspended yet, may not be until after the season.
Plus, could be other contenders. Isaiah Bolden is my favorite dark horse candidate to crack the depth chart. And Speed may be aptly named.
still looks like a pretty good unit. nice competitive young talent contending for the spotlight.

yikes, trading Judon would be a huge mistake

Uche maybe, but he's starting to hit potential elite territory on a rookie deal, so would be nice to have his production this year

i wouldnt trade Judon tho, too important to the team, chemistry, etc and is an elite defender
Yeah, both Judon and Uche are too valuable if this team thinks they can make the playoffs this year. Getting rid of either of them would be throwing in the towel before camp has really started. At that point Kraft should just burn it down, fire every member of the front office and coaching staffs, and start over.

Ask and ye shall receive:

Thank you kindly!
Day 3 of TC in 2022 people seemed high on:

1) Terrence Mitchell
2) Lil Jordan Humphrey
3) Jonnu Smith
4) Tre Nixon
5) Shaun Wade
6) Hunter Henry

Shows to me how unreliable early TC stars are in predicting who will be difference makers during regular season.

Agreed and that is why Douglas' short stocky build is suitable for his slot position. If Douglas was thinner he would be quicker, but I doubt he would last as a slot guy.
