Couple of thoughts:
Patriots' secondary should be very, very good. If Uche (hope he gets extended) and Judon (I think they're going to give him some extra $$$) can work with Barmore and maybe White to force throws, this D will be filthy.
They are so much faster and younger now, and with a lot of high-character guys who seem to love the game.
I thought Trent Brown might be the surprise cut, especially with the original reports on his conditioning. Now it looks like he's dialed back in, saying all the right things, and looking way more ready to rumble. Loved his comments on BOB. That could be critical for the OL.
Now the guy I'm watching as a possible cut/trade is Kendrick Bourne, particularly if Douglas continues to impress BB. I like Bourne a lot, but there's something just not clicking there with him and the staff, and he has almost no dead money with FA coming next year. Hope I'm wrong.
I remain strangely unimpressed with Thornton. I keep thinking that he might be the biggest miss in the last three drafts. I hope Boutte can stick around on the PS, at least. The talent is there.
Even though I've never been one of those "we need a number 1 guy" fans, I feel like the WR corps really does still need an elite talent, which would make the other guys shine bright, which is why I really hope Boutte "gets it." Douglas would have an important role if he can continue to impress, but Boutte has the raw physical talent to be elite. If not, hopefully there will be some good pickings in next year's FA class.
