Patriots Throwback Jerseys?!

I like the ones with the solid red letters.

Are those the ones with the "hidden" stripes in them. I couldnt stand them and the logo on the shoulder was way too big.

These??

Or these??

Of course, if they wanted to go way back, to year one, 1960...how about these

Ok I'll admit, the one thing I disliked about the mid 90's royal blue uni's were the stripes. I love that royal blue color on uni's like that one and the rams old uniforms. If the logo's on the shoulder were a little smaller and they had no striped, that would've been an amazing uniform. My point was that I really loved the royal blue on those uniforms.

Does anyone have any word about throwback jerseys for the 2012 season?? It would be especially great to play with them on Thanksgiving against the Jets in their throwback uniforms. Also it would be cool to see them used in another game or two!

Anyone agree? Disagree?

I want the throwbacks brought back permanently. Classic and neat.
What they have now is ok but it's not as identifiable as the old red jersey with the real pat patriot. And I don't want to hear about how they've won in the new jersey's. They still would've won even if it were pink. And forget about this god awful Elvis logo. Looks like the 90's threw up on their helmet.

The throwbacks suck, big time. They're boxy and clunky looking, the team looks slower in them. They have a woeful losing tradition behind them and are the wrong color for a team named Patriots. Pat Patriot is a very dated, static-looking '60s-style cartoon character whose image really makes no sense. But the biggest faux pas from the very start was choosing British trooper red (representing the ENEMY) for a team called the New England Patriots. It's time to move past attachment to the old, dusty duds and embrace the WINNING era.

Nobody has ever thrown me any Patriots jerseys....so I'm a little bit left out of the throwing them back part...

At first I wasnt sure what to make of your post. But, after thinking about it, there is a lot of good sense to it. Especially when you compared the color red to the Brits.

The Connecticut Colonial Militia wore red and fought on the American side, and the minute men didn't even wear uniforms, and many units in the revolutionary army wore green.

But the Colonial Army regulars under George Washington wore blue and the British ALWAYS wore red. First time I've ever heard of green, but we know that would never happen. Maybe they should got to a scheme of tan, brown and white.

I don't know whats worse, playing in these.

or losing to the team that wore them. :-/

Some royal units of the British Army have traditionally wore blue (such as the Royal Horse Guards)

Some things you learn in history are not always true, many confederate regiments wore Virginia blue in the Civil War

I've always loved the White hrowback jerseys.

Would love to get my hands on one.

The reasons for the white and dark color jerseys is a thng of the past, no longer applicable.

It existed so that viewers on black and white TVs, with small screens, could discern the difference between the teams and their players. It was also a carryover from baseball, because both baseball teams had primarily white uniforms, so they made the road team wear a grayish one.

I got news for Y'all. Everyone has color TVs today, and many have B-I-G screens. So they don't need to keep doing that nonsense.

Not necessarily accurate. In the NFL the home team for every game has the choice of whether they want to wear white or the dark colors. If the Jets opt to wear white then the Pats can wear red.
Teams often choose to wear the whites at home in September when high temps and lots of sunshine are forecast. The only times I ever recollect Miami wearing their orange or aqua jerseys at home was for night games.

That may be, in part, true... but the dark and lighter color jerseys is important to the players, in particular the quarterback as sometimes, all he can see is the color of a jersey.
