My brother plays guitar for Godsmack. From what he told me Kraft wanted the song "I stand alone" to be rewriten as "We stand alone" This was to be the Pats theme song. Godsmack's singer Sully Erna didn't want to do that and instead suggested writing a brand new song for the Pats. Nothing has come of it.

Sully Erna has publishing rights on that song so it's his call. Maybe they could use a song off his side project band Another Animal?

I dunno about Godsmack.....it all sounds the same ...iMO they're an Alice In Chains rip-off.

In fact, they stole their name from an A.I.C. track on the album "Dirt".
