Player Signing Patriots Sign WR Stefon Diggs

He thinks he'll be ready for tc, medicals say the knee healed fine, but like don't be surprised if he's 75% out there all year.
First of all, they needed to do this......Badly.

With that said, a 75% Diggs is 70/900/4 which would be a career year for anyone on the current roster.

That is FAR too positive a read. At many positions we still have marginal talent at the starting position Iincluding - setting giddiness aside for a moment - at WR, and very poor backup talent at most positions. At some positions, all we have is backup talent, across the o-line, for example, with perhaps one exception.

Thank god. The offense finally gets something that will at least make defensive coordinators have to game plan against us instead of taking the week off.

He must’ve checked out medically, so this is a great signing. He’s going to haunt Buffalo’s horrible secondary twice next year.

Went 6 for 82 yards and a victory over Buffalo last season.

Gronk injured his ACL in week 14 and was back for game 1 the following season, Reggie Wayne injured his in week 7 and returned in week 1.

You could see how much he was not himself though.
It isn’t really the point though.

If Diggs is ahead of schedule, it’s physically possible for him to play week 1. Diggs won’t fully be himself next year. Starting week 1 or week 5 will not change that.

I completely forgot about Mack Hollins.

Diggs
Douglas
Bourne
Boutte
Hollins

Polk
Baker

In what universe does Polk or Baker make the roster? Would have to beat out Bourne and/or Boutte? That ain't happening. I guess if Diggs starts the year on PUP or they carry 6 WR?

Being on the field and being 100% are two different things.
Like others have said Diggs at 75 percent is by the far the best receiver on the Pats, as long he isn’t risking injuring it again. Maybe when the schedule comes out the Bills will be week 1, that will motivate him to be ready.

That's the point. They just shelled out a **** ton of $ for a player who will not be 100% for a year.

The Pats know this and made the call. It is what it is.
