With that said, a 75% Diggs is 70/900/4 which would be a career year for anyone on the current roster.

At many positions we still have marginal talent at the starting position Iincluding - setting giddiness aside for a moment - at WR, and very poor backup talent at most positions. At some positions, all we have is backup talent, across the o-line, for example, with perhaps one exception.

It isn’t really the point though.

If Diggs is ahead of schedule, it’s physically possible for him to play week 1. Diggs won’t fully be himself next year. Starting week 1 or week 5 will not change that.

Like others have said Diggs at 75 percent is by the far the best receiver on the Pats, as long he isn’t risking injuring it again. Maybe when the schedule comes out the Bills will be week 1, that will motivate him to be ready.
