If he comes, he'll be a WR i feel

I think it's more of a two year deal and can cut bait by year 3.I like that this is a 3 year deal the most of anything. Whether you think Carlton is worth it or not can be debated. What can't be debated is by year 3 they will very likely be able to rid themselves of this contract if it doesn't work out(or do an extension/restructure) and go all in on signing Gonzo a year early to a long term deal. That is the most important thing.
That is what i was getting at though more long winded. They will be able to either cut bait or rework it to sign Gonzo a year early. And as we have seen. It is better to sign guys early.I think it's more of a two year deal and can cut bait by year 3.
He's coming to play both.1st round pick for a slot/3rd CB?

While I wouldn't be upset with a blue chip being addedHe's coming to play both.
By signing Davis we can save some reps for offense.
Just need to get something on offense that allows him to save reps too.
I think you just got to Rock! While I wouldn't be upset with a blue chip being added
It will be insufurable the talk around Hunter, i fear. Everybody will want him in all the time, there's going to be reports and training to deploy him as a gadget
I don't know... Just keep it simple while for a year more, that's my sentiment i guess
There are worse problems to have, than to have the best WR and best CB in the draft, in one draft pick. While I wouldn't be upset with a blue chip being added

He's the best player in the draft, at least imo.I mean is he really that good or is it hyperbole?

Thank you for this. I am clueless when it comes to calculating the cap.Cap number for 2025 should be:
$5.5M signing bonus amortization
$5M salary
$225K workout bonus
$975K roster bonus (likely to be earned - another $300K considered unliekly)
$2M playtime incentive (likely less because tied to game played and he only played 13/17 last year but I can't decipher from this).
Cap number of $13.7M. Again, likely less because some of that playtime is not likely to be earned I'm pretty sure.
Milton Williams is probably $14M based on the calc I did in that thread. So for combined $46M AAV, cap hit is probably more like $27.7M.
Great scheme fit. Gonzo is best in man coverage too, but if he's playing man coverage everyone else has to be. You can't have one guy in man and the rest of the team in zone. If you want to be a man coverage team you need man coverage capable guys across the field.
It'll be harder to sign FAs at the position once Gonzo is being paid top of the market. So this works for now, but in the meantime CB is one of those spots you need to be throwing some draft capital at annually so a few good man coverage guys emerge and you can keep running the scheme without over allocating money to the position through free agents.
Boston Globe projecting Williams at $14M, same as you, and Davis at $11.7M after seeing the contractCap number for 2025 should be:

Makes sense. Davis has those $2M in playing time incentives. They're either likely to be earned (counted in cap number) or not likely to be earned (not counted) depending on if he hit those marks last year. Considering he only played 13/17 games, there's a good chance that most or even all of them are classified as not likely to be earned in which case they don't count. They're probably taking that modest leap of faith and excluding, whereas I was conservative and included them so hence me at $2M higher than them.Boston Globe projecting Williams at $14M, same as you, and Davis at $11.7M after seeing the contract
