No one has made one yet... and seeing we are less than a week away, and the smoke has cleared from the cuts, we may as well start talking about the game. I thought of calling this 'We're onto Seattle" or "We're onto the Regular Season". But feels like we should like the BB stuff drop? IDK.

Anyway here is my main take away. There is a massive amount of pregame disrespect in the mainstream media.

Yeah... I am not buying that. I think the Pats surprise much of the world and win this game. Assuming Gonzo plays, which i think he will. I expect a hard fought one though. But who knows... week 1 can be silly.

A lot hinges on Gonzo showing up healthy and playing hard. Remove JSN and it is a different game.

Eh they get the benefit of the doubt they're the defending champs opening at home where it's tough for any opponent against the team that they beat handily in the Super Bowl. All but one are by no more than 1 score so that's some respect there for the Pats. With that said I think week 1 is a great time for the Pats to play them. Gonzo needs to be active though for sure.

What is the biggest thing you want to see get answered in this game? For me there is a lot of things: Can we effectively run the ball, Are we not so predictable in the play calling, Does Drake try to force too much to AJ, Any designed runs for Drake, Does Drake learn to finally throw the ball away and not force an INT, Can the front 7 bring pressure or does Darnold have all day in a clean pocket, Does Borregales become consistent, Does Gonzalez give 100% with no deal in place, Is Henderson playing?

But the #1 thing I am looking at is this....Does Will Campbell anchor the left side of the line.

Offense: run the rock / burn the clock, check down Charlie, Douglas will have 5+ receptions sitting in zone

Defense: blitz

Edit: I don’t think Check down Charlie should be a constant mindset for Drake in 2026 but I do think it will help greatly against Seattle and will probably give them fits.

I guess the media or talking heads have no idea what we now have on Offense...ie A.J. Brown - Romeo Doubs and Eli Raridon. Throw in marked improvements in Pop Douglas - Kyle Williams and Efton Chism. The Pats Offense could be a problem for Defenses as long as they limit turnovers.

I think we're going have to win with Offense for a while: until we figure out who can set the Edge on D.

The balance of power has shifted to Offense. Keep the ball and limit time-of-possession for the other team.

The biggest difference factor for either team will be a healthy LS OL for the Pats (coupled with erasing whatever tell SEA was reading).

Other than the wildcard: Pats revamped- new acquired ST possibly dorking things up; I see the rest of both teams substantially similar to what they had in Feb.
- Some different faces, but substantially same quality for both teams across all their units.
- ( I guess you could say wildcard2 is if SEA RB room is hugely downgraded vs only slightly. ).
- So I would think the under is a good betting option in this one….another D -dominant matchup.

Seattle has been much more a "win now" team than the Pats, and winning now is probably what they will do on Wednesday. The future may be with the fiscally cautious Pats, and Seattle may well find itself fiscally handcuffed down the line, but for the present moment, Seattle will reap the benefits of their aggression, and in the end an ever-escalating cap may pull their chestnuts out of the fire. That escalation, of course, depends on fans' being willing to pay increasingly larcenous fees to watch the games. So long as the fans bend over, teams like Seattle can stand up.

I would love to see some Formations with AJB in the Slot with Doubs and KW on the outsides. That should really stretch the D some and open up a lot underneath. AJB played the Slot in College. McDaniels have some nice toys to move around and play with.

That’s probably what the Seahawks will be expecting and practicing for. I would go the opposite with 13 personnel / Henry and Eli with Aj as the lone WR in the 1st half. And run with our new FB. Seattle will then adjust at halftime and then we unleash the Kraken WR’s. Hopefully by that time Seattle is playing catchup and BAM….Donald throws a pick.

We have shiny new toys at WR…Seattle will be expecting us to use them right off the bat. Wait till the 2nd half to unleash them.

First games of the year are always hard to analyze but this one is even Moreso. People forget the Seahawks offense was mostly controlled by the Pats defense in the Super Bowl. Sam Darnold was in regular season MVP discussion for about 8 weeks and then reverted to historical Sam Darnold. Now he lost his top OC. New year, unclear where Pats defense is at right now, but Seattle offense has taken a step back.

It really comes down to the Pats offense. Much improved I would think. Also have to be a chip on the shoulder of some of those players after the SB loss and the whole Drake Maye poor playoff talk must have him looking to prove everyone wrong.

Vrabel coach teams have underperformed in opening games. Is it result of a small sample size or part of the extended exhibition season coaching style? No Idea.

A healthy shoulder for Drake Maye and some new weapons, plus a year in the system. That vs Sam Darnold? If Pats protect Maye they should win. Of course, no idea if they can.

Campbell and Wilson will be keys Wednesday and really the whole year. If they hold up the offense will explode, 2007 lyte. This offense is way better than the one we had in February.

Hopefully Drake has learned to utilize the check downs more and I can’t believe this wasn’t drilled into his head before the super bowl. I read somewhere that if there is any weakness in Seattle’s d its their tackling on the backside. There were a few plays in the sb where we just dumped it off to rham or pop in the flat and they made a guy or 2 miss for a good gain. Especially given our protection issues and Drake being a bit off we didn’t do it nearly enough imo.

Make him see ghosts and we win. Our offense should be improved from last year, however they might be rusty early on.

We will win, by 10!
That is all.

Hey, cool, looks like the Houston game.

Seahawks fans are very confident that they'll pick up where they left off.

Another big game for Maye. Opening night is like a mini Super Bowl with all the festivities and hype. Its probably going to be rocky for a while until the offense gets into rhythm.

Our offense will be much different than last year.
Scheme will be similar, but the players aren't.
It's Jimmys and Jos not Xs and Os.
I would like to see Maye come out faster than he typically has, this is one area he could really improve. He has a tendency to be inaccurate early in games.

Also, the 17-13 people are wild.
