Patriots Player Departure Patriots Release Dominique Easley

If the character questions of the Patriots reflected the quitter issues of their fanbase this team would be the Lions.

The team felt it was pretty well stocked going in to 2014 (you do remember that Super Bowl win, right?), looked at the risk to reward ratio and decided to swing for the fences. It didn't work out. Time to move on.

Ya gotta love people completely ignoring this. They took a risk on him and won a SB that year and then was in the AFCC and was a missed XP from likely going to another SB and neither of those playoff runs had Easley on the active roster.

Any word on when we will find out if he is claimed?

Let's hope that the Pats learned their lesson and stay away from most players related to Urban Meyer : Cunnigham, Spikes, Hernandez, Easley, Chad Jackson. Not much good stories here...
Sucks for Miller and Thomas then.....

Probably because I am not an employee of the Patriots and thus not privy to much of information that led to his release?
What information? I haven't seen any real justification for cutting him. It looks like the team make a mistake releasing him, not drafting him.

Second Coming of Vick? Dogfighting?

teams have 24 hours to put in a waiver claim. since the first report was by tom curran at 12:38pm yesterday, we should know by that time today.

Per Volin:

Unnamed Patriot player on his release: "Saw that coming..... Injuries and locker room cancer"

Sources: "He'll make an appointment for a massage and not show up. He's just very disrespectful and irresponsible".... "I think he rubbed a lot of people the wrong way. He comes across as an entitled kid. He reneges on everything. He thinks he's invincible".... The Patriots "never liked him from the get go and part of the problem was he would never listen to the medical advice".

And apparently he told people in 2014 he wanted to be traded.

Honestly... if this is all true then good riddance. They made a mistake drafting him, hopefully they learned their lessons from this.

What's the deal with this? Was he revealed to be part of an ISIS sleeper cell?

Calling Easley a bust is foolish and shows a lack of knowledge. Easley was drafted as a calculated risk, he was not your everyday #29 overall pick he was a player similar to Jaylon Smith this year, he could end up being the steal of the draft or he could end up being a non factor. Easley was 50/50 from the start and that is the only reason he was on the board still.

For what is worth the same year we "wasted" a pick on Easley in round 1 we picked up a franchise #1 CB as an UDFA.

From our perspective, he's a bust. How on earth can you argue otherwise?

If you can read Volin's piece and not see any justification for cutting him, then there's not much more I can say.
Sucks that teams are not allowed to trade players and get value for them.
