Dion Lewis was really only great for 7 games of the 2015 season. As amazing as he looked then, I am shocked that anyone would even consider placing him over James White. White is also an outstanding player in addition to his longevity.

It's a shame that Lewis's career was compromised by injuries and being constantly overlooked. If he'd stayed healthy, he might have been one of the best running backs of the 2010s.

I could watch that play over and over again. It seriously puts a big ol' grin on my face. If you wanted to show someone who knows nothing about football what a running back is, the two modern plays you'd show him are Lynch's famous run against the Saints for a big bully kinda back, and Dion's masterful footwork against those C'Boys.

I'm sure there's a billion other plays that would be better, but I'm tryna make a point here. Loved that play.

Josh Allen over Todd Sauerbrun, really?

People can argue the merits of Dion Lewis and James White all they want... its a fun argument ,,, but, for me, LI seals the deal for James White

And here is the Team of the 2010s; below are players that did not make it to the Dynasty Team. Italics denote they were part of the 'honorable mention'. This list is longer than the one from the 2000s.

Flex - Danny Amendola
DE - Chandler Jones, Trey Flowers
DT - Lawrence Guy
OLB - Kyle Van Noy
ILB - Jerod Mayo
CB - Malcolm Butler
K - Stephen Gostkowski

LeGarrette Blount went from no mention on the 2010s Team to an honorable mention for the Dynasty Team, duplicating what Stephen Neal did with the 2000s Team.

im not saying he should get in over Gilmore or Butler, but I’d like to add an honorable mention for Logan Ryan.

Kinda weird they didn't go for a sub defense given that it has been more or less the real base for most of the 2010s.

Blount as a Patriot in playoffs
vs Colts: 54 rush, 314 yards, 5.8 YPC, 7 TD
vs everyone else: 57 rush, 156 yards, 2.7 YPC, 1 TD, 1 fumble

Dunno if he belongs on this list even as an honorable mention. Too bad the Pats couldn't keep him though. Ran over us in LII.

Mayo and Branch missing from the team is crazy to me, not to mention no Branch in the honorable mentions. I mean, he was a Super Bowl MVP!

Also, Stephen Neal over Andruzzi.

& why LeGarette Blount as HM but not Antowain Smith?

Branch > Amendola, definitely.

Neither Moss or Welker were on any champ. teams. I get why they are on the list but I would have put Branch and Amendola. Money in the biggest games.

Yup - what I said near the top of this thread.

Top 3 Super Bowl rushing games in Patriots franchise history
1- Sony Michel 94 yards (LIII)
2- Antowain Smith 92 yards (XXXVI)
3- Antowain Smith 83 yards (XXXVIII)

Obvious right? o_O

Loved Milloy here. You can argue he helped the backfield create the 1st dynasty for his work as a rookie until his release. But I think they got it right with Chung over him due to tenure. Chung’s playoff resume and accolades dwarf Milloys and its not even close.

Here's my 53-Man Roster. Tried to distribute position groupings to include the most worthy selections while still being within reason. And I think overall, this is also the 53 best overall Patriots players with the exception of Paxton (need a long snapper) and leaving off Hernandez (just can't put him on.)

The three final cuts were Dion Lewis, Kyle Van Noy, and Andre Carter; you could plug them in and take some bubble guys out if you want.

Quarterback (1) - Tom Brady
Center (2) - Dan Koppen, David Andrews
Guard (5) - Logan Mankins, Joe Thuney, Joe Andruzzi, Stephen Neal, Shaq Mason
Tackle (4) - Sebastian Vollmer, Matt Light, Marcus Cannon, Nate Solder
Running Back (4) - James White, Corey Dillon, Kevin Faulk, Antowain Smith
Fullback (1) - James Develin
Tight End (3) - Rob Gronkowski, Daniel Graham, Ben Watson
Wide Receiver (6) - Julian Edelman, Troy Brown, Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Danny Amendola

Defensive Line (5) - Richard Seymour, Vince Wilfork, Ty Warren, Trey Flowers, Chandler Jones
Outside Linebacker (3) - Willie McGinest, Mike Vrabel, Rob Ninkovich
Inside Linebacker (4) - Dont'a Hightower, Tedy Bruschi, Jerod Mayo, Roman Pfifer
Cornerback (5) - Stephon Gilmore, Ty Law, Asante Samuel, Aqib Talib, Darrelle Revis
Free Safety (2) - Devin McCourty, Lawyer Milloy
Strong Safety (2) - Rodney Harrison, Patrick Chung

Special Team Specialist (2) - Matthew Slater, Larry Izzo
Kicker (short-mid) (1) - Adam Vinatieri
Kicker (kickoff-long) (1) - Stephen Gostkowski
Punter (1) - Ryan Allen
Long Snapper (1) - Lonnie Paxton

Good list. Incredible that the following guys could also be justified in making the list on play alone:

Ted Washington
The murderer
Brian Waters
Dion Lewis
Brandin Cooks
Cordarelle Patterson
Kyle Van Noy
Jamie Collins

That’s a lot of people to cut in one day. BB must be in a bad mood.

Am I the only one left thinking the dynasty isn’t over? It seems the team is declaring it thus by releasing this now.

Where the hell is Branch? How does a Super Bowl MVP get left out? I hear the Pats are saying it was a mistake. Pats never won a chip with Moss, swap ‘em and call it a day.

It’s nice when your able to add roster spots and not leave anyone out. However, Lawyer Milloy was a Strong Safety so going by your list your going to have to either take him off the list, delete Chung or add a 3rd spot.
