Now that was a defense that earned a nickname. The "Boogeymen" not so much.

Only the four players in bold italics from the Team of the 2000s did not repeat on the Dynasty Team at their positions. Faulk did make the new list, but as a RB rather than return man this time. (The 2000s team had only one RB, and no backups - 26 players in total versus 43 for the Dynasty Team). Milloy was "included" as an honorable mention; RT Nick Kaczur and punter Josh Miller were the only two players from the 2000s that were completely left off the Dynasty Team.

Expanding the list from 26 to 43 also allowed for the addition of special teamers Lonie Paxton, Bethel Johnson and Ellis Hobbs, who were not on the 2000s team. In addition Stephen Neal went from off the 2000s team to honorable mention this time around.

The number of players (43) seems odd to me; why not make it 46, which is what the amount you could have on a game day roster prior to this season? That way you could include Milloy, Mayo Gostkowski and one more (since Edelman is on there twice).

The first 3 probably because they were viewed as mercenaries, and I assume people feel James White's overall body of work surpasses the short peak of Dion Lewis.

If they could place two long snappers on the team, they could certainly place two kickers, the guys they were snapping for, on the team. And there is no doubt that Ghost had a bigger impact than either snapper. Also remember that he was far better with his kickoffs than was AV.

Dion Lewis was really only great for 7 games of the 2015 season. As amazing as he looked then, I am shocked that anyone would even consider placing him over James White. White is also an outstanding player in addition to his longevity.

It's a shame that Lewis's career was compromised by injuries and being constantly overlooked. If he'd stayed healthy, he might have been one of the best running backs of the 2010s.

True. It is a tough call. AV was here for 4 years in the dynasty, Gost for 13. Just hard to overlook the kicks AV made for us to help win those early SB's.

The league changed so much in the past 20 years that it is hard to compare the defenses. Early 2000's were much more physical and defenses were still allowed to grab and take out receivers. The 2001 Super Bowl game plan would result in 20 defensive penalties in todays NFL. Chandler Jones, and Mayo deserve consideration on defense and Andrews at C.

CB: Revis over Samuel. Samuel never won a ring as a starter. They don't get to the Super Bowl without Revis in 2014. He's the reason they were able to go heavy man to man.

the home run plays over the years dont really support that. The 2015 team took a significant dive in offensive productivity once dion went down with an acl injury.

this is one of those selections like the 2010s all decade team where butler made it over revis. Not saying its wrong as theyve been consistent with their criteria by in large, but an important distinction nonetheless.
