I'd rather keep the potential of Wydermyer than some WR trying to fatten-up as a TE.

Fire our TE scout too.
Wasn't the knock on Wydermyer that he had absolutely nothing to work with physically and therefore not much potential?

He has NFL size & hands but not NFL agility, so he needs to re-shape his body... I would've given him more than 2 weeks; this Scotty Washington fellow - or someone like him - would've been available all year long...

He's pretty much the same exact height (.2" diff) and weight as Kyle Pitts, although I don't know why the Pats site lists him at 217lbs when he's supposedly at 247lbs now - someone's slacking or it's deliberate. Predraft, he supposedly ran a 4.41 during his virtual pro day, but I'm sure the 30lb gain is going to slow that a lot (though he says he didn't lose too much speed). Intriguing.

Edit: Funny - I'm speculating that Asiasi overtook him, which made Scotty expendable. Not sure how I feel about that.
