Highsmith has paved his own path in his scouting career. Titans general manager Ran Carthon worked alongside Highsmith...
You are rightApparently he’s taking a job with the Broncos, so this was likely a mutual parting for him to have another job real quickly.
Maybe. I emailed the recommendation to the Pats front office. So no chance to get Bacon or Manx in there huh?
This is surprising as he held a very important role in organization... as far as scouting. Oh well, is wolf next? They are purging the team of anyone associated with the prior regime

Please don't take that comment seriously. Of course wolf likely isn't gone. Williams probably found a better position elsewhere. I wouldn't just take this as vrables purging all of Bill's people. Wolf still here, groh, and host of others. One thing I can already see is Vrabel is a very hands on coach. Why would Wolf be next? They just had the best offseason they have ever had, and even the most pessimistic Patriot fans can’t find anything they need to do before the season starts, and we are in May. I give Vrabel the credit for the turnaround, because he’s the one making final decisions, but his working relationship with Wolf is excellent, and Wolf clearly played a significant role in their offseason success.
I think we're seeing that the team is getting rid of guys who Belichick brought on when he was at his worst. Let me reiterate... Belichick was, for most of his run, an exceptional coach and roster builder. There did come a point when he just didn't want to be challenged anymore. Players, coaches, staff, he just wanted not to fight anymore. Which, for a man in his 70s, is a perfectly valid thing to want. It just makes for bad decisions.
Draftwise, the game had definitely passed him by. Just some awful drafts for his last 10 years. Brady and shrewd free agent signings and even trades from 2013 on masked his horrid drafting, enabling them to win their last 3 SBs. The drafts from 2010-2012 gave the Pats key players that led to the SB in 2014 (Gronk, McCourty, Highsmith, Jones etc).More to the point, BB had just stopped evolving and refused to recognize or acknowledge that the game was passing him by as it always does with each every one who has played the game or was involved one way or another.
Captain took two weeks before coming here with something critical with the draft, and he was conspicuously absent from the chat. Why would Wolf be next?
