Patriots OTA's 5-31-2022

Bill's turn to walk Nike, so he's late for his press conference.

Hope the twitter feeds are sharper this week.....lol

Bill a lot more candid and engaged. A lot of talk about interactions w/ other Boston sports teams.

Talked about how team looks at players from an economic value point of view and reassess the type of player being pursued (ex. WR).

Said team looking at having a different offense.

Said Uche was a player important to the team but would not compare him to Hightower.

Said Butler looks the same as before.

Rookies being challenged on environment, competition, etc. some a lot more than others.

Said value of ST has dropped.

Obviously Bill wouldn't come out and flat out say Malcolm can't do it anymore if that were the case but I find it encouraging he said he's about the same as before. If Malcolm can play for us like his first stint that will really make it easy to swallow losing JC.

JC obviously got more ints but I think Malcolm was still slightly better than JC for us.

Malcolm go!

This idea in the Boston media that Bill isn't an innovator because of his age is just absolute lunacy. I think he's cooking something up for us. This idea that you have to be 35 to be innovative is lunacy too. The older I get, the more I realize this isn't true. While it may be harder for older people to generate new ideas, one thing they are unlikely to do is reinvent the wheel, which is a common mistake of younger people. They think they're onto something new, without any context or awareness for what's been done in the past. And this is the advantage Belichick has.

Seems to me they're following what others are doing. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
