The Patriots Offense has some pretty bad metrics, including:
- 12 or fewer points in 4 of the last 6 total games
- 3 Straight Losses in which the offense put up 10, 12, 6 points respectively
- Dead last by a wide margin in TE team receptions with 7 total in 6 games. Pathetic.

I can't remember the last time this offense looked so bad. Probably before Brady's time or perhaps on McD's Broncos or Rams teams without Brady. I think it's time to pull the fire alarm and ask whether we have the right offensive coordinator. We haven't developed ANY wide receiver or tight end since O'Brien left in 2011. The only guy who developed was James White who by all accounts is an elite human being and probably developed himself. The OLinemen had Scar, but Scar is gone now.

We have the worst offensive skill talent in the league, and only the JETS are close. We haven’t drafted a quality WR or TE in a decade. We don’t have Brady now to make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

Whether we like it or not we aren’t contenders right now and it won’t be a quick fix.

At the top of the list we need our future QB. It doesn’t look like he’s on our roster. Where do we find him? Teams typically don’t trade quality QBs so we’ll likely need to draft one. Even then it’ll take a few years to know what you got. We’ve seen teams play the QB carousel for years. If the rumours that the 49ers aren’t keen on keeping Jimmy G then maybe that is a possibility.

We need playmakers plain and simple. We need at minimum 2 quality WRs added to our roster. Draft multiple, trade, Free agency...we need skill and speed. At TE throw the 2 rookies in and let’s see what they can do. If neither develop we gotta do the same as WR; draft, free agency, trade...

This team is rebuilding. The older guys like Edelman, the McCourty’s, Gilmore, Hightower, Chung, will all be retired or gone before we turn the corner. Gather as many picks as we can and get some skill on this team. And pray we somehow hit on our QB of the future.

NFL exec says the Patriots have the worst skill players in the league. Part of this is on Belichick but being last in TE receptions in 2019 and the same here in 2020, sounds a lot like the 2011 league worst St Louis Rams offense that McD ran without Brady to cover for him:

Compile as many quality picks as we can. Be aggressive in FA for the players we not only want, but need for our system to work. Hope we can somehow get the next QB, until then, it’s gonna be rough.

All the 'team over Brady' people are looking pretty f*cking stupid right now. BB himself has said time and time again that "players win games, coaches loose games", yet he let the best player ever walk through the door. Look where each team is now... It's Brady, it's always been Brady .

The OL's only real issue has been health.

It's certainly fair to question WR and TE, though. Between 2010 and 2018, the only non-day 3 pick he spent on either position was Aaron Dobson in 2013 (and the one-year rental of Brandin Cooks).

Harris is running great. Maybe a heavy dose of 40 runs per game the next couple weeks ?

.
At this point I’d rather see an all runs game if it means I dont have to see Cam Newton throw a football again in a Patriot uniform. He was that unwatchable.

Run the damn ball....

That’s funny but the defense didn’t look so great either. 33 points, 467 total yards, 197 yards rushing, 80% red zone efficiency against. Putrid.
I hope Bentley isn’t the LB version of Jordan Richards. Brilliant but can’t play at this level. Wasn’t all that impressed with Jennings yesterday either.

Piss poor drafting over the years is adding up. Way to many FA losses on defense plus covid sit outs ruined that fine unit fron a year ago. This team is trash but its OK we had a good long run of winning the wheels were always bound to come off at some point.

1. Cam is indecisive passing and holds the ball too long. By the time Cam is ready to throw, the defense has adjusted and if a NE WR had some separation they dont anymore..

2. Holding the ball like youre a statue places undo pressure on the OL. The OL can only block for so long before they commit holding or allow a sack. The previous NE QB got the ball away in 2 - 3 seconds.

3. Cam is a runner QB by trade when NE needs and has always been a passing QB team. In the back of a runner QB head is the fact that he can always take off with the ball in arm and save the day ala Superman when the passing play isnt there. Youre basically breaking even. Where you have a deficit in QB passing you have a surplus in QB running.

4. If in 2019 the GOAT struggled to win with basically the same group of WRs and TEs how does anyone expect a lesser QB to win 12 games and hopefully play in February 2021?

5. The Patriots will struggle to compete with teams that jump out to a sizeable lead.

LBs were putrid. Bentley>Richards but that’s not saying much.

I think BaconGrundleCandy should do the drafting.

As has been mentioned in the past those things are related. If you have an offense that can't stay on the field there's more of a chance that you'll have a defense that can't get off the field.

One defender who stuck out like a sore thumb yesterday was Jason McCourty. He was horrible.

The McCourty twins are too old. They are decent at this point but nothing more. Our secondary needs to get younger.
