Yep. The Chargers game wasn't just a blowout loss at the hands of a better football team... it was also total coaching and organizational incompetence on display for the whole country. Probably the most embarrassing loss in the history of Gillette Stadium. Kraft had to make the move.

If the Chargers loss was the tipping point, then the children upstairs should've been fired at the same moment Mayo was.

That'll happen when you have the worst QB in the league. He's a great coach, not a miracle worker.

The place was a **** show in 3 of Dear Leader's last 4 years here. Everyone else would've been deservedly fired for that "performance" too.

Right on par with the Kiam regime. It was truly rock bottom then, too. Embarrassment everywhere, it was the norm them

What's been happening here since You-know-who went You-know-where has been even worse than then.

If you ignore all other factors, which you shouldn't do.

That makes it nonsense.

I wanted Ben Johnson for two reasons: Offensive-minded and get away from the past!

Reading this thread and following some of the links to in-the-know folks, I've warmed right up to Vrabel. He might be just what that organization needs right now.

One thing came back to mind: when Vrabel was in Tennessee, he drafted pretty much every player the draftniks here wanted, even jumping BB to get the guys, iirc. He put together a pretty good team down there in the trenches.

I was a Ben Johnson > Vrabel guy as well and converted to Vrabes

What changed my preference was the multiple articles written which detailed how awful the culture had become not only with the players but the coaches v front office. All these agendas, etc. Plus the Krafts operating with a level of cluelessness about their operation that was downright scary.

At a minimum, Vrabel will fix that and this team will be a lot tougher and smarter which is imperative in establishing a winning program.

Ultimately Johnson might become the next BB and Vrabel might suck and picking players, coaches, etc but if i'm putting money down and bet who will make the 2025 NEP a better team for now and 2026, it's Vrabel.

It's about respect and having control over your locker room. Want to banter about how the fans don't know their ****..all day long, behind closed doors.

Only bad organizations allow that too happen. There are certain tenets you as a professional athlete abide by. One is never, ever under any circumstance tell fans they are stupid.

No matter what, never, ever, tell the truth.

This thread is BRUTAL. Most comments essentially amount to "we're ****ed, back to the basement"

That’s not brutal, that’s awesome. Those poor babies. Nothing ever goes their way. I feel so gosh darn sad for them. Think I will go have another good cry.

Had to laugh at Vince Wilfork saying Mayo is the one who "found" Drake Maye.

No, that would be me. No one had ever heard of him before I came into this forum and said” you know, there is the kid at the University of North Carolina, and he’s going to become the next Tom Brady.” And everyone laughed said “ ha ha ha, we want a receiver.” And I said “ no way Jose’, I’m going to make Eliot Wolf take him.” And then people called me all sorts of nasty names, and I cried. But then I stuck to my guns, which are massive, I work out every night. And I said “ Yes he is, I’ll show you.” And then I made Eliot Wolf pick him ( at massive guns point). And then all of a sudden everyone loved him, and I was right, and I Love the JJ changed his name to Love the Drake, and Patsfan 2 cried about Marvin Harrison Jr., drank a bunch of tequila, passed out and pissed himself. Poor guy. That must have been really embarrassing, especially since he was passed out on Love The JJ’s couch. Which still stinks of 2’s piss to this day. Oh well, at least it had a happy ending.

I always remember him getting the FA we wanted
Getting a guy we wanted in a trade
And when he picked ahead of us in the draft as you said. He took our guy
Now he’s on our side

Well played. Your posts make much more sense now that I know that you control Eliot Wolf. I have a bone or two to pick with you regarding you you pulled the strings on FA and the rest of the draft. LOL

Can’t talk right now, on my way to straighten Vince Wilfork out about who really got the Patriots their franchise QB for the next 20 years. Bob Kraft loaned me his scooter.

Talk to Patsfan2 about Polk, I had nothing to do with that pick.

Welp there goes our first round pick

Welp there goes our first round pick
The Pats are no longer beating up on the rest of the league, so no reason to try and bring them back to the pack.
