Mutual understanding to move on. What NFL team just lets you leave, if they have a Very good Young Coach? Teams don't let value like that leave.
Its called getting fired.

Being a hotshot college coach is awesome, but it means nothing in the NFL. Ask Nick Saban and the hoards of NCAA football guys who thought that they had what it took for the next level, but struck out in the Pros.

I remember Klemm pick. I don't remember him ever on the Field. Out of Coaching for a couple of years, with Steelers, then one year in the Pac 12. Yep, I'm skeptical. Hope he proves me wrong, Happy to admit it. Made many bad judgements.
If you're going to roll the dice, Id rather have Ryan Wendell who is already working at the OL coach in the Pros.

Hopefully he's a better coach than he was a player.
Good players often make bad coaches and vice-versa. If you are physically talented, you can spend less time
on technique and understanding the game, but you cannot make other players as physically talented as you were.

Klemm did with the Squealers.

Scar commented that Klemm had a lot of injury issues during his time here.

people: GO GET AN ACTUAL OL COACH

Belichick goes and gets one

people: NO NOT HIM

beggars can't be choosers
I am very pleased with this hire. It satisfies the first condition - have a dedicated, experienced coach work with the OL, not the distracted offensive assistants sharing roles so no one knew who was in charge.

Adrian Klemm played for Dante Scarnecchia. That means two things 1) he knows how BB does things and how Scarnecchia addressed issues coming from the coaches, 2) Klemm will have the player's attention as a guy who played the position on three SB winning teams.

Bill O'Brien + Adrien Klemm > Matt Patricia by light years. I think Klemm's experience as OL coach in Pittsburgh is interesting, too. He's seen how two NFL teams handle the role and comes in with a mix of pro and college experience just like his boss.

Now, go get a top-flight OL in the draft and sign a proven veteran to upgrade the line.

Did you copy my entire post by accident? Lol makes it look like you’re saying the exact same thing I did

As a Brit, I am always struck by the way that U.S. sports teams have to have an official nickname. It's OK when it's a fierce animal (lions, wolverines, alligators) but ... ducks?

There is unfortunately a National Hockey League franchise based in Anaheim CA (where DisneyLand is) called the Ducks, officially shortened a few years ago from the Mighty Ducks, the name of a movie (produced by guess who) about a mis-spent youth hockey team, a Bad News Bears on ice if you will... They've actually won a championship, when their goal-keeper was allowed to dress like the Michelin Man... I wanted Ottawa to win so bad yo...

I wondering if Bill will be spending a lot of time on Special Teams this year.

Why doesn't he just send Judge Joey over there? It's the only NFL job at which he's even half-way decent... And it's what Bill should've done with him this season anyway.

Ugh!

I love this, very much.

Second coming of Scar. Very hard and demanding. We haven't had this kind of accountability since Scar walked away.

I too am glad for the hire... Bill knows him, yet he's worked for other people so he also has perspective... But let's cool the jets with him as the second coming of Dante until he's coached a full NFL season from start to finish, and will return next season as well...which I really hope All happens.

It’s not at all reasonable. Homegrown or not, Josh was the highest paid coordinator in the NFL when he came back.

And I'm sure that the other senior assistants - Ivan, Dante, Scott O'Brien, Ernie - were also well-compensated... Don't think that's been true for the coaches of the other offensive positions; or also for the defense as a whole since maybe Dean Mister Peesbody left after the 2009 season... Doubt that Phatt Matt was one of the higher-paid DCs before he left for Detroit either.
