I have a hard time going against Vinatieri. If you're thinking of a cult/folk hero, it's hard to deny the guy who was responsible for the clutchest of clutch kicks throughout the first run of Super Bowls, especially that 2001 season.

Two SB winning kicks.
Snow Bowl tying kick and game winning kick.

There is no conflict.

Jules gets in, but Adam's first in my book. Who knows what happens if he misses either kick in the snow.

EDIT: you guys that pick Jules aren't wrong. Just my preference this time. 100% Jules deserves a red jacket.
Adam Vinatieri has the whole 'Spent most of his career with the Colts' issue to overlook.
That's why I went Edelman this time around. He didn't join the Tampa Bay Booze Cruise.

I went with Jules, and like many here, him being a lifer was the deciding factor. But if Adam gets in, I won't be mad at all. Both are incredibly deserving.

I'm not sure Mankins will get in anytime soon. There's a huge backlog of players coming up soon that will keep him out for 20 years or more, most likely.

Gotta go Edelman. Not surprised Mankind is getting no love. Was never part of a super bowl win I believe. And what most people remember about him and that offensive line at the time isn't how good they often were but how they absolutely got abused (including Mankins) by the Giants. Particularly in 07'. The thing that I will always remember about him the most was the look of dismay on his face in that 07' super bowl. When he was being beat badly and had no idea what to do about it.

And the worst part was he wasn't getting beat by an all time in his prime. If it was Reggie White or Aaron Donald you just need to kind of accept it. But I think Michael Strahan was on the downslope at that point and well past his prime. Not to say he wasn't a hard match up, but guys at his level you face multiple times a year every year. It is tough but not singularly special. Neither should Justin Tuck have been.

In a perfect world, all three but thinking Jules this time around. Its sad that AV isn’t in yet though…

he's not beating any of the "stars"in a head to head vote... very difficult for a lineman to compete against memories of a players highlight reel...

losing stephen neal to injury, and then replaced in the second is really an overlooked issue... Hochstein just wasnt up to the task

Its AV or Jules. I'm really good with either. If I have to pick its AV his game winning kick changed the course of the organization. Where he played after NE let him go is irrelevant to his role in the birth of a dynasty.

Torn.

Vinatieri has been waiting far longer than he should have been. Deserves not to wait any longer.

That said, Edelman should be a first ballot HOFer for the Patriots.

To say I am disappointed at the glaring omission in the poll choices would be a gross understatement. That, once again, the grievous breach of PF etiquette has been made by someone who damn right well knows better makes it even worse. Honestly, sometimes I feel like I don't even know this place anymore

They can't both be 1st ballot guys, 2025 is the 1st year of eligibility for either of them. Vinatieri hasn't waited any longer than Edelman.

All 3 belong in. I know they have voting rules. But we spoke pretty clearly about Parcells (he never came close after several years on the ballot) and Kraft just lets him in anyway. So who cares about rules It's insulting to these 3 greats not to just put them in.

I mean we're really going to put a kicker in before Jules? But of course AV should get in and probably be good to give him a red jacket before he gets a yellow 1. And then Mankins I mean we all want him in and believe he deserves it but how do we ever pick him over multiple time champions that made huge clutch plays.

But by all means ignore these great players to force Parcells on us instead. Why not Curtis Martin too then.

@Pape...

It was a deliberate omission. I accept the rebuke without complaint.

Mankins will probably wait a while. I'd put AV in first by a tiny margin over Edelman. Wish both could go in together.

AV literally won us two Super Bowls, making some other really high pressure kicks along the way. His resume stacks up against anyone not named Brady.

I do think Mankins is deserving... But he's not going to get in head to head unless he comes up against a very weak class... looking at the upcoming queue of players, its gonna be awhile for what will then be Old Man Logan...

His thumbprint was all over the team for a decade plus. As for Martin, he will never reach the final ballot for the NE HoF.

How many can get in this year? They should all get in.
