Patriots Free Agent Profile Martellus Bennett

Steve Balestrieri

Bennett caught 55 passes for 701 yards and 7 touchdowns. He completely bought into the team-first concept and was a popular teammate in the locker room.

Good stuff Steve.

I don't think Bennett will back either unless something goes drastically wrong for him in free agency. He was great while he was here and gutted it out through injuries. He earned his ring twofold. Good luck to him in the future.

He is a fascinating person to follow on Twitter.. the more he posts, the more I like this guy.

people keep saying how he isnt going to stay so much that now I think he might

I doubt he signs with anybody for less than 3 or 4 years. But i don't think he has 3 or 4 years left. At a reasonable offer i think the Pats should sign him to 3 knowing he may only be productive for maybe 2 more. My other team, the Lions need a TE desperately but again i wouldn't want to sign him for 4 years.

between 4-5M for 2 years is what i would pay for him, unless BB is eyeing a TE in the draft that he likes

He already turned down 7 mill its going to cost 9 or 8.5

Last time a notable vet came here from Loserville, USA and helped the team win a championship, thereby experiencing the elation of winning it all at the highest level, I was sure he'd pass on the huge money elsewhere and re-sign here for a fair deal.

That person then promptly signed for megabucks with the Jets.

That person was Darrelle Revis and I was wrong. So now, I say Marty's rolling out too.

Thanks for the memories Marty you let it all hang out. That said this is a Great year to Draft a TE Pats could even double dip. We just need a quality Player to step in after Gronk gives us his customary Eight Games.

The difference between him and Revis (and I am more than confident to say this) is that if he does leave, he won't disparage the team and QB on social media and in public interviews.
