Thornton is the deep threat. They have Osborn slotted as that other outside WR, but seem to be pushing Baker to develop and take that job.

Now it's only a matter of them being able to block long enough to utilize the deep threat and Maye taking the QB job, because Thornton has gotten behind the defense numerous times this preseason only to have Brissett under throw him.
The deep passing game does not become successful in isolation. The offense needs balance to keep the defense guessing. Clearly Maye and Thornton have the ability. The defense needs to respect the run game and short passing to create opportunities to strike downfield. The more situations the defense needs to account for, the easier it is for the OL and the offense in general.

Javon Baker is a legend in his own mind.
Boutte is better

Baker should be cut but won’t be

I also watched it, and before I saw your comment I was going to come on here and make the same comment. Incidentally, JT's channel has become my absolute favorite football channel and I think he would make a great coach. He's not afraid to be critical, he's not afraid to ruffle feathers, and he is definitely not afraid to discuss 'boring' topics like technique.

I watched JT O'Sullivan's review of Drake Maye. It looked like Wilcox, #87 was open on every play. I want to watch him more closely next game.

His hands are the worst on the team.

Watch 88 instead, the rookie, Bell has been impressive as a blocker IMO, even if he hasn’t gotten a lot of targets. They need to fade Wilcox and get the kid more involved.
Both Bell and Wilcox have done enough to make the team IMO. Keep 4 TE's or move on from Hooper as this team isn't winning anything and has no need of a backup on the wrong side of 30.

Wilcox has been terrible, his hands atrocious and his blocking overrated.

He must be the most personable guy on the planet the way his teammates make excuses for him and fans still have faith when day after day of camp all we've read about via tweets is repeated drops.

Worst hands on team belong to Baker

Baker has gotten a ton of targets and made a lot of tough catches. Wilcox drops too many on a much lower amount of targets. Baker dropped a diving catch and people only remember that... that shouldn't define his short career so far. Wilcox is entering year four.. he has no excuse.

???

If we can find someone off waivers, I would be fine with both being waived.

They tried to trade up to get Xavier Legette (4.39) or maybe another speedster such as Worthy (4.21) (if possible but he might have been gone) in the draft but could not because the Bills would not do it for a division rival. They decided not to draft McConkey at 34 and traded down. ...

The problem after that was who to draft at 37. The Patriots took Polk, but who else was there? Adonai Mitchell maybe; I suspect that this will be a conversation piece in the future, i.e. Polk versus Mitchell.

Another trade down could have worked if they could have gotten Patrick Paul. Failing to find a trade partner they settled on Polk. I suspect that if it was BB at the helm, they would have taken Cool-Aid McKinstry while the draftnics tore out their hair.

He’s also practicing everyday against one of the better defenses in the league and making a lot of catches.

He’s a rookie, it won’t be all sunshine and rainbows, but hopefully he figures it out midseason and becomes a real NFL player. AJ Brown and Deebo Samuel had growing pains, they turned out alright.
