Patriots Don't Need A Big Physical WR, He's Already Here
By: Steve Balestrieri

Hernandez and Edelman can move in and out of the slot and bring you different matchups depending upon the defense....

Herdandez's play seemed to slip as the season went on, maybe expectations are too high. I don't think he was that effective outside and may serve the role of a 'big' WR (ala Boldin) but doesn't help much for putting pressure on a defense (aka deep threat).

So people complain about Lloyd's low yards/rec and they think the solution is moving Hernandez outside more?

The more Hernandez is used as a WR, the more it becomes obvious that he's a TE tweener who's advantage is versatility, not straight up matchups.

Hernandez is not a WR. He's more of a Tweener. He's much bigger than the average WR, but not as big as the average TE. He's more of a Jermichael Finley or a poor man's Vernon Davis. He's a big bodied receiver who can exploit his versatility to reap desired results.

He hasn't the speed to be the burner this team needs. He is slooow.

how many fully healthy seasons do we have between them?

not quite what many have in mind when it comes to a big, physical WR
