My guess is the move had more to do with locker room issues...maybe bad influence on a lot of young kids on roster.....one bad apple can run a whole bushel...

A guess without a lot of evidence, from what I can tell.

Seems some DEs just don't work out here.

It reminds me of the interviews with Chris Long after the season. He said the Pats offered him a contract but he just didn't enjoy the role he was put into here, so he decided to look elsewhere. He was a good trooper and Did His Job, but he came here to feel what it was like to play for a contender, and he rode that all the way to the Super Bowl win, and now he wants a role with more glory and less grunt work. I'm paraphrasing, but that's what I got out his interviews he gave in the off season.

Maybe (and just saying maybe) Kony could not adapt to the role of doing the grunt work. DEs get paid for going upfield and getting sacks. That's what they like to do, and that's what they get rewarded for doing. More often than not, the Pats ask DEs to stay in and hold the edge. Not much glory there.

Hard to believe if all these teams put in claims we couldn't get anything for him?

Teams have to be hesitant to trade with BB. You are much better off taking a player he cut and making it work, so you can brag about that. But if you give up a draft pick to the Pats and it doesn't work out, your fan base adds it to the list of things they criticize you for.

A lot of these guys operate out of fear as much as anything else.

How is that hard to believe? Do you think he didn't do his job?

That's exactly what I think. He did not do his job, as defined and assigned by his coach, Bill Belichick. Had he done it he would still be on the roster.

I'm not in a position to know all the facts, but from all I've seen and heard I'd speculate that he came in with a bit of an attitude that he knew better than his coach how to do his job. That resulted in getting off on the wrong foot, and why he and BB "have something going on or whatever" in Ealy's words at the time. Seems like Ealy had plenty of time and chances to fix it, but he ended up following the Jamie Collins / Chandler Jones career path.

I was talking about belichick. I assume when you comment that 7 teams made waivers claims so you don't understand why we got nothing for him you are implying we could/should have.

Despite the fact that BB specifically said otherwise?

My impression is that ealy just didn't fit in. Whether it was personality, technique, acceptance of his role, or whatever as BB said it just didn't work out, but he made it a point to say he did everything he was asked.
No need to make up guesses that conflict with the facts.

I just posted what Bill told me...

So Anthony Johnson is currently in limbo.

Still, that is a much better place than the Rats' roster.

Johnson was waived/injured, actually. Apparently managed, somehow, to slam his trunk lid down on his left knee.

Twice.

I hate the Jets so much.

Not that they're ever a threat, or make good use of our former players, just knowing those rats are always waiting to desperately pick up any intel possible from our cut players (which they'll fail to put to any practical use) makes them even more pathetic to me.
