Blaming a team’s fortunes on the refs would seem to be the refuge of loser mentality, but this year has had us see some truly horrible, unacceptable refereeing, and it has happened to all teams.

The NFL needs to fix this.

Boutte being tackled before the ball was even in the picture and ending up concussed, and not drawing a flag, is just one notable example.
Yep. Zebras haven't earned their stripes this year.

Crazy how our last home playoff game was a loss to our current head coach. Full circle…
I’m pretty sure that was also the case in 2001

And please, please let Sam Darnold in a Super Bowl....think of all the ghosts.

If things break a certain way, Seattle could make the sb without darnold having to do a whole lot and youll get your wish. I could see their defense shutting down any of those nfc offenses except the rams, in which he would actually need to put up big points. But good chance they avoid them.

Can we please start jamming receivers at the line in man coverage? That is a strength of our boundary corners. Stop giving receivers these 6-8 yard cushions, allowing easy completions. LAC has no deep threat that worries me. QJ is viable, but Gonzo will shut him down & QJ usually shuts himself down with drops. Also, we need to swarm to the ball & tackle with intention.

It’s crazy to think how close we were to 17-0…literally. Yeah, you could probably say this about a couple of other teams, but it’s not about them..

Colvin: Their lights are out! It’s a power outage!

Lol

How long does it take to acclimate to altitude? I thought that Belichick helped to nullify that advantage by getting the players to Denver well in advance of the Play-off game. That having 4-5 days at altitude, practicing outside made a difference?
Baseline acclimatization is minimum sixteen days for the lungs to process oxygen at the same efficiency as at sea level (assuming a consistent workout regimen as done at the lower elevation over that time period). 3-4 days does little to nothing.

A quality, side-line to side-line LB who can play in coverage and but can also play the run well.
Pretty much describing a first round pick there (or expensive FA). Most LBs these days are lucky to be 2 of those 3 if not a pure specialist in one that are mixed and matched with another with complimentary skills plus a "big safety" type to run with the TEs.

We have ended up playing a lot of zone because of the issues we've been having with the LB corp and our inability to pressure up front (we rank near the bottom). It's also why people think they're seeing, amongst other things, Gonzo have a subpar season because he's been asked to play a lot of zone rather than to his man strength which is asking a Ferrari to race through downtown Boston instead of on the masspike.

But the layered help has pretty much fixed most of our issues and I think that if we could get a real wrecking ball for the DL this offseason, we could gamble more on man-to-man.

I hope so, back in November, I placed wager on Patriots and Seahawks meeting in Big Dance. Odds of 35 to 1 which is now only 11 to 1 today.

Good bet. That might be the most likely SB.
